Second Cup Café (Hintonburg) — Restaurant in Ottawa

I think the food here sucks but it's not the baristas fault. i think second cup as a company just needs to rethink how they operate. the drinks (by recipe not execution!) are always too hot and you have to ask them to steam it less if you want a good drink. i don't know why i went here when there are multiple better coffee shops within walking distance and even more if you walk 2 minutes more. it's weird that second cup is still going. it's kind of amazing when you think about it. this is inspired by the worst chicken wrap of my life i had from here

Very bad customer service and the staff is inexperienced.

I have ordered a Maple Latte and a Chocolate Almond Croissant at this location through the Second Cup app. The staff gave me a Maple Tea Latte instead of a Maple Latte. And he told me they don’t have the Chocolate Almond Croissant but they offered me if I can select another item. Unfortunately, they didn’t have much options and the display case was almost empty. I was very disappointed and asked if I can get money back. He told me he can’t do it and I should have to contact the corporate office.

Beware that if you are going to this Wellington Street Second Cup to buy unflavoured ground coffee, the old machine they use for grinding does not grind correctly.

It's only this Second Cup that has the problem. The Bayshore and Carlingwood stores grind their beans correctly and consistently.

At the Wellington Street Second Cup, if you want No. 4 grind, you have to ask for No. 2, otherwise it will be too coarse.

I told them about this problem soon after the store opened a few years ago, but they never fixed it. It's too bad because it's the closest Second...
