2024 We get Christmas gift certificates from my mother so all the adult children and grandchildren can go out together and The Keg is where we go. Ten of us is hard to accomodate so it's either an early dinner, this time at 5 pm on Saturday February 10, or late, like after 8 pm because we never call soon emough. BEWARE we got a ticket. Parking is always rough downtown. Good thing we had a good time because our dinner was 5 pm and free parking starts at 5:30. We got a $75 ticket for not paying for parking for that 30 minutes figuring what city worker is still out there at that time!!! Service was great, thank you to our server, sorry I didn't get your name. You were on top of things. For my husband and I our evening cost over $230 plus tip. That's two 9 oz glasses of red wine, starter of bacon weapped scalloos, steak and salmon meals, with chocolate cake for dessert and the large Keg Irish Coffee. We were starved and were thankful for the hot fresh bread and garlic butter to start. Great food, great atmosphere, see you next year! 2023 Great night at The Keg. Like everything post Covid, prices went up but food was up to our expectations. There was eight of us and everyone enjoyed their meal. Service was great and we didn't feel rushed. Ended the night with specialty coffees while sharing desserts: double chocolate, cheesecake and creme brule. Will definitely be going back but will be sure to book sooner since it's not easy getting an earlier time with a bigger group.

I had the pleasure of visiting the restaurant "The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Ottawa Market" today, and I am thoroughly impressed. The food was wonderfully prepared, and the service was exceptional. In particular, our waiter named Daniel left a lasting impression. He had the menu memorized and was extremely attentive and accommodating to special requests. What truly stood out to me was Daniel's ability to speak multiple languages. In addition to English and French, he also had a good grasp of Spanish and German. This versatility made communication during my visit effortless and contributed to feeling comfortable and welcome. The restaurant had an inviting ambiance, and the overall atmosphere was delightful. The quality of the food and beverages was top-notch, and I could sense the passion and care put into their preparation. Daniel was an outstanding host, impressing me with his extensive knowledge of the dishes. His ability to accommodate special requests and provide recommendations made my visit truly exceptional. I will definitely revisit this restaurant, specifically to be served by Daniel, on my next trip to Ottawa. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a first-class culinary experience, excellent service, and a multilingual staff. A big thank you to the entire team at "The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Ottawa Market" for creating an unforgettable evening!

I was high expecting one of the best steak house in North America. But I am kind of disappointed. It was busy nite on Friday . The front desk girls are not organized. Not smile not professional enough . You can tell they have. Hard time hiring people. Too dark to check menu , too noise . I don’t want to worry too much but food quality. Three of the famous item what we order . *Rib steak , good size , good grilled marked but I order medium rare . It over cook to medium well .the French fried is so bad.like other review mention , it s cold and cavendish’s quality in a plates 50$ I m very sad about it. *Prime rib, the mushroom rice was good and the size is good but not the high quality beef level.because taste bland. *Wellington beef. The size or shape is not the classic Wellington. Look flat and too much mushroom n vegetable inside the pastry . Cannot taste the beef and pastry together well . The mashed potato was taste good with butter and seasoning. *Long Island ice tea as cocktails but no taste . It better check the recipe . The worst is calamari , battle not cover well , over cook and size is small , May be I should not order there . One of the best is the bread , home bake with steam come out but it take long time to come and we finish the soup . It busy restaurant it can bake more and the waitress can easy to handle instead of wait 15min for a breads Wine is good match the steak with good price. What I order . So far you can tell not easy to have steak house with good location and good bands name. And experience . Put the review I hope it can improve the quality and make more people know how to eat and what they pay what they deserve . EVEN It’s busy or its lack of staff . And good training is important to them with American classic restaurant with good welcoming, wine open and Order procedures. Good luck and best wish

Went to the Keg recently for date night and it was great. We hadn’t been since 2019, so we weren’t sure what to expect. We had a great waiter, Theo, and he was very attentive all night, as well as very friendly. We didn’t feel rush, which is appreciated given the cost of this type of dinner. We slowly started the evening by grabbing a drink - they have a good cocktail selection, however, their types of gin were limited. Before the appetizer we got the warm bread service. Great way to start the evening and I really appreciated the special cheese and herb butter. We shared the scallops appetizer and it was very delicious. The scallops were cooked perfectly, but for the price it was a small portion. I then grabbed a wedge salad - just WOW! It was a nice big portion, the lettuce was crunchy and I had more blue cheese dressing and crumble than I could’ve expected. I grabbed the sirloin with garlic mash potatoes, and I wasn’t disappointed. The steak was a perfect medium and the potatoes were creamy. The veggies in the plate were not overcooked and was happily surprised the have roasted beets in my plate. My wife grabbed the baseball steak and it was cooked perfectly! It was tender, juicy and easy to cut. The fries were not great, however, they weren’t crispy or salted enough. Would definitely come again for a date night!

Delicious food, and wine. Maybe the menu has changed, but I thought it used to be three full pages. Either way, there is no shortage of choices available. Our waiter Jacob was great, and attentive. Service (meaning our food being served) wasn't really fast, but there is a reason for this. Patrons who go to The Keg are not going for a night out to eat and run. Eat, talk, relax, drink, and repeat. The oh so delicious crusty warm bread (free) was served with a three cheese garlic butter. Yummmy! Great to snack on before eating the main course. My teriyaki steak was cooked as ordered, and I enjoyed eating every tender morsel. I also had to have the twice baked potato which is not healthy or low in calories, bout so good. Coming for meal here is definitely a treat as I forgot how expensive a good steak costs. Do yourself a favour and treat yourself once a year (or more if your pocketbook allows) to a special night out by dining here. No time or room in my tummy to indulge on the Billy Miner Pie this time. This ice cream pie is one of my all time favourites, but I will have to wait until my next visit to order this delectable dessert!

Went there a couple of weeks ago. Can see the pictures. We had a good time. Me and my son. We each had the prime rib 14 oz and it was very good. The only thing is that one of the hosts that says a tall blonde girl had terrible Bo smell. So besides that it was okay. The service was a bit long. The girl that served us was nice but took a little bit long. The food was good. Primary was good and everything else was okay so I would recommend going there. It wasn't my first time I had been there before too with my wife and had a even better experience. So I would recommend going there so stop procrastinating get up get out. Go to The keg on York Street in Ottawa it's good. By the way, I'm not making fun of the party girl. I don't know what happened to her that day but this PO was not normal. Not like an overnight not wash. We're talking several days. This was just horrific of a smell but luckily she was at the door and not serving us anyhow. Besides that, everything was good so I would recommend going to eat there. It's a little bit hard to get parking so you might want to Uber. Enjoy!
