Nice views of the bay and staff were friendly, however it sort of ends there. The food is overpriced and underwhelming. The pan fried white fish was dry and served with some dry cold plain basmati rice. Definitely not a $30 dish. The battered pickerel had a thick, dry dark batter that just fell off the fish. The fries are just a small handful of frozen fries. The side of beans is just a spoonful of canned baked beans. What you get is in no world a $30 fish and chips.
Now when you arrive you will see a line to get in. I am assuming this is to artificially create a sense of hype as there were plenty of tables available. I found it odd that there were so many tables available yet people standing around waiting. Then I watched the server enter our info on their iPad and saw that she was selecting how long our wait time to get in would be. As 1 table would leave, 3-4 groups would get texted that their table is ready. So it was not based on waiting for an available table, it was how long they were being told to have people wait.
The only busy place was the front door where they staffed 1 person. There was a line for people to check in, then people randomly coming to the front with texts to get their table. Because of the chaos they create, people waiting to give their name get bumped out of line, you have rude people that push in front panicking because they got a text and push in front of others. And the one person working the front obliges these rude people making those standing in an orderly line feeling invisible. The whole system is stupid and makes people annoyed at the staff who are trying to be friendly.
Right now this place is living on hype and name recognition. With the pricing, poor quality food and systems that make the staff look bad and favours rude pushy customers, this place is...

Easy parking and we decided to go as there was a lineup a previous night as they do first come first serve seating. We waited 5 minutes and sat outside on Parry Sound Harbour and Georgian Bay. It’s a beautiful and peaceful place for a family dinner. There were 4 of us so we ordered the family platter that includes 12 pieces of fish cooked with wheat breading, gluten-free breading or pan-fried no breading as well as baked beans, coleslaw and French fries/chips. We chose gluten free although some of our party wanted breaded as you can only choose one way for the platter - suggest offer other options as not sure it’s too tricky to organize by customer preference. I started with the Seafood Chowder and it was one of the best I’ve had due to the freshness of the seafood and flavour and consistency of the soup. The battered fish was just as fresh and the gluten free breading was light and provided a perfect crunch. I ate most of the beans and the coleslaw was a takeaway but looked high quality. Fries were perfect and their lager was scrumptious. See you agai...
We had guests from Niagara and wanted to treat them to a Henry’s fish meal after a trip on the Island Queen. When we entered there were many employees in sight and yet no one greeted us for a while. The dining room was extremely cold so we decided to eat on the patio despite windy and rainy conditions. Many table groups were moving inside and outside repeatedly to try to get comfortable. Our server was defensive about the situation and insistent that the dining room was 74 degrees and needed to be that temp to keep the kitchen from overheating.
My friend wanted a Caesar and both versions were unavailable because of a “fountain” issue. She then ordered a Marguerita that she did not enjoy and could not drink. My husband took a sip and confirmed that it was terrible. We had difficulty finding our server to correct the situation and had lots of issues throughout the meal with lack of service. The restaurant had the feel of a place that was not being managed. The food was good but did not seem to fit the price.
Our family has always loved a visit to Henry’s Sans Soucci so we were looking forward to this new version in Parry Sound. Unless they make some changes, it won’t be our go-to...
