Reggiano's Pizza — Restaurant in Port Coquitlam

Update: Our order was refunded and we were provided a generous coupon for the inconvenience. I am updating to 3 stars until we get a chance to try the pizza for ourselves! It’s tough for a new restaurant to start up so I think everyone should be mindful and try and give them a second chance after opening weekend

First experience: Sadly they completely fumbled their opening weekend. When we called about our online pizza order after it was 1.5hr late they said we would get it in 45min. When we called when it was now 3 hours late they told us we would not get pizza and that they will refund our order. It also sounded like pure pandemonium on the line! We have not received our pizza nor our refund so I hope they can sort this out and get our refund to us shortly - happy to give them a chance at a proper review down the road. Not sure what happened but it’s a shame - especially unfortunate as we are sick and just wanted a nice easy dinner. We were hoping for a better first showing from Reggiano's but it's pretty clear they still have a lot of kinks to work out.

We ordered delivery for 6pm. It was delivered on time, but lukewarm. It had been sitting out for a while.

First, the Pizza: it was "okay". The dough was undercooked. It had that gummy bitterness to it that undercooked Neapolitan style doughs do. Not the end of the world but definitely not pleasant.

The Deluxe toppings were okay and would have been decent had the dough been better cooked.

However, the Margherita felt very misleading. From the picture below, you can see the aggressive amount of dried oregano. Between that drowning out any other taste, undercooked dough (see the pale crust), and it being far less put together than in their photos, it doesn't feel like good value.

Second, the Salad: this is where the 3 or 3.5 star review goes to a 2 star. Half the leaves were either black slime (as pictured) or on their way there. That's unacceptable. It isn't that difficult to pay attention to your lettuce and salad supplies and not serve something completely inedible for $10.

Our first experience with Reggiano's was on their opening night and they had a bit of a rough start... However their staff was kind enough to refund us and give us a discount code to use. I waited until we could give them a second shot to write a fair review.

After a couple months we decided to order from here again to try it out. The employee that took our order over the phone was probably the most friendly person I've ever dealt with at a restaurant and the in store experience was the same.

The pizza was absolutely fantastic. We ordered two larges and both of them had perfect crusts, and super fresh ingredients. Definitely some of the best pizza we've had. They are also super reasonably priced for the large size they give you. Definitely disagree with any of the reviews saying they didn't have much toppings.

Would highly recommend and will be back.
