I don't wish to give them any stars but am forced to to leave this review!!! I have never been more disgusted with the poor service and employee display of loud arguing and yelling in front of patrons in a foreign language. I ordered 2 teen burgers (no onions - allergy). Waited a while before being helped all the while the employees were fighting with each other. The communication taking place between 2 employees with no regard for the patrons present was shocking. This is a very small A & W and there were two young girls eating and an older gent sitting waiting for his order. Finally, I ordered my food (without onions) and went outside as I was irritated by what I was hearing but before stepping outside the older gent waiting for his food made the comment to the female cashier " Having a bit of trouble here are we" and then wished me a Merry Christmas. I went outside, returned 5 minutes later to find my order was still not ready and the bantering had not ceased but increased to a level that I could no longer stay silent. I watched the two of them continuously argue all the while speaking their native Farsi language amidst English speaking people which makes those who do not speak the language feel awkward and uncomfortable. This location may want to re-evaluate your employees and protocol. I watched my burgers being made with onions but said nothing as it may have not been mine but a drive through order. When she handed me the order I acknowledged my allergy again and stated I had requested no onions. She took the burgers out of their sleeves and placed them back on the grill area and then the male cook started to remove the onions off the burger. I made comment that I was allergic - removing them would not correct the problem that they had been on the burger so he said he would make it again. I has now been 25 minutes at A&W and they are just starting my order again. At this point enough was enough. I advised them both that I was utterly disgusted at their customer service skills and the way in which they continually argued in Farsi in front of customers. The female stated they were only speaking in their language because it was busy, which it wasn't that they had no change and there was confusion regarding orders. At that point I advised that it doesn't matter what goes wrong, you are to never display to the customer that problems exist but quietly and professionally deal with them in a manner which does not put the customer in an awkward place. I advised both of them that I would be contacting A&W as what kind of person am I to have these thought processes and do nothing about it. I have now lost confidence in these two employees ability to make my burgers correctly so I watched and as he bagged my first teen and went to bag the 2nd one I stated shouldn't there be bacon on them. He reopened and placed bacon on the one still on his station and then after me commenting took the one in the sleeve and reopened it to place the bacon. At this point they were apologetic but far too late now. I stated you would be fired on the spot if you were my employee for not having the decency to work as a team, respect and help each other as opposed to lashing out in loud farsi words with a tone and actions showing nothing short of animosity between them. So much as I like A&W after this evenings performance, it is not one that I would ever want to relive so I feel that Subway may be a better choice where staff are trained in how to deal with the public and work together as a team. This was the worst experience I have ever had. Sad when a good chain doesn't care enough to train and follow up on the employees who represent them. Read moreMay 7 2025 - have I mentioned they make the best lettuce wraps? Better than any Earls, Joeys or any high end restaurants for that matter. Its always soggy wilted lettuce at any other place however, at A&W for some reason they get it right! I tried a lettuce breakfast wrap in a lettuce wrap today. Wow. So good. Lettuce wrap anything A&W is amazing. Thank you. PS. I appreciate you removing antibiotics and hormones, can you please remove high fructose corn syrup and all the other modified milk ingredients and chemicals that are in your buns and wrap materials? They still make me sick. Love you guys. Thank you.
Feb 18 2021, All A&Ws hands down make the most superior lettuce wrap with beef or chicken. The lettuce is always crunchy and they even trim it so you hold it in your hand. Only decent fast food chain in my opinion. They are on point with healthy trends.
Update: now I rate business based on their Covid pracautions. During my visit to this business I observed all employees wearing masks which made me feel like they were taking things seriously. They have a great customized stick that where the interact machine is then attached to the end making it a perfect way to decrease contact at the windows with customers. Of course I cavi wiped it down and the girl serving me say they do wipe it down regularly. It should be wiped down each time as the glove the staff wear are not changed and may touch face, money, etc. I soapopupar my hands and spray 70/30 ETOH H20 mixture on my bag regardless which AnW I attend for my own family safety precautions since this thing is so new. I'm interested to know how the food is handled inside my favorite fast food restaurant. 5 stars for food quality, friendly service, and safety precautions applied to combat the pandemic.
Old post: This is the only fast food place I eat at. They were the first to offer antibiotic and hormone free animal products and NOGMO food items. Love it. One ingredient I was not fond of was the high fructose corn syrup in the buns. I get letuce wraps instead anyway but if your going to go high quality, might as well make everything healthier.Love the service and love knowing I am getting a high quality fast meal. Thank you for never making a mistake on our orders....
Read moreIf I could give this place ZERO stars I would. My family went through the drive-thru and we were immediately put off by the attitude of the lady taking our order. I ordered 3 3-piece chicken strip combos all with honey mustard and sprite, immediately after that she asked me "Is that all?" I said no and continued to order 1 chicken BLT combo with sprite. She then asks if we wanted honey mustard with both of the combos and I stated that it was only one chicken BLT burger, that's when she confirmed that we had ordered the 3 chicken strip combos. At the end of that she asks again "Is that all?" again I say no and order 1 double teen combo with root beer. After we paid, we only recieved three drinks instead of FIVE, we brought it up with the woman who was attending to us and she argued back and forth with us, we thought it was only the drinks so we just told her to leave it and drove off. When we got home we realized that it wasn't just the drinks but also we were missing the entirety of the 2 chicken strip combos. We went back to the A&W just to realize that the lady had just conveniently gotten off her shift. Unfortunately, there was now a new staff member who had to deal with our anger. All we wanted was our money back and we said this quite a few times, this was a whole ordeal as well as he tried to offer us the chicken strips that we were missing. We finally got our money back and it's safe to say that we will NOT be coming back.
