Truckin' BBQ — Restaurant in Port Moody

The food was ok. The brisket was very tough, chewy and dry except for a couple bites that were ok. The pulled pork was good but cold. The mac and cheese and coleslaw were eatable but not great. The fries were fine. However what really surprised me was the employees. They were very apathetic and not once did they say thank you or sorry. They did deliver our food but without any napkins or ketchup or asking if we wanted anything--so I got up to get it and I mistakenly asked if they had a spoon and the response was quite abrupt and concise, saying "no spoons" . When I went to bring them our used trays thinking I was being helpful, it was as if I was inconveniencing them from standing around. They told me to just leave our trays on our table without a thank you or an apology for making me go back with our trays...which they had been sitting on for ages, and I said "well, I'm here now, so..." But then the indian woman passive aggressively told me that they dont take garbage... It was a very strange social dynamic that threw me off. I regret tipping them 20% up front and wish I could ask for it back. Something happened to this place, not sure what but it used to be good. Maybe the staff change? Not sure. But the trays are still here attracting flies as I write this review while the woman at the truck continues to...

I just ordered a brisket burger, Mac & cheese & mini donuts from these guys, and I called in before I made the order to ask them to add cheese on the burger, they said it’ll be an additional charge of 2$ I said sure. Order comes, bag felt sorta light, I was like no way this is my order. Nonetheless no brisket on the burger, no Mac & cheese, only a regular cheese burger. I call them to tell them that I’m missing items, she basically insinuates that I’m lying and says “ no it was a brisket burger” I’m telling you there’s no brisket on this burger… and I’m missing the Mac and cheese. I have no reason to lie. And the rather rude tone in her voice was quite condescending. I have no reason to lie on you or your business. I actually enjoy the Mac and cheese that’s why I’m upset. Please be more respectful towards your customers next time. Having an “oh well” attitude won’t...

We tried their brisket poutine, since a lot of people liked it in the comments. Sadly it definitely did not live up to our expectation. Almost no cheese, and the very little that was in the plate was shredded and very mild. No flavor. The added bbq sauce is very sweet and tastes like ketchup, nothing like bbq. The fries have no crunch and felt slightly undercooked. They were tasting good otherwise. The brisket... Nice flavor but very strange texture. It's almost as if they boiled it to heat it. No bite to it, and the bark was wet.

The portion was generous, but it will be my last time. Not worth the high cost for such a disaster, especially since they have a real pit.
