We've visited Quebec several times and have found that many of the restaurants in the tourist areas are loud and offer similar fair. Far too often French fries fill a large area of the plate. We found Ciccio Café just a few minutes walk from our hotel. How refreshing!

Ciccio Café is a small restaurant on a side street with about a dozen tables inside. We were immediately seated and well attended. We could see the dishes were delivered to the tables steaming hot and ours was no different. The menu has an ample selection of pasta and meat dishes.

I had the Fettucini au Saumon Fumé; the sauce, composed mostly of cream and tomato had a wonderful salmon flavor, although the salmon content was minimal (It is a pasta dish, not a meat dish). I savored every forkful. My wife and son both ordered Fettucini Alfredo. My son has very limited likes and "Mac and Cheese" or a grilled cheese sandwich are his usual restaurant choices. He loved the perfectly creamy (cream, butter, parmesan) sauce. We were supplied a generous basket of bread and it was replaced when we emptied it.

It was such a pleasure to enjoy a meal where people were dining quietly, at their leisure. Background music volume was set just loud enough to contribute to the atmosphere. Prices are reasonable and...

The bread was served cold. I read a review about that before going and the owner rebutted that the bread is not. Well, it was. But that's fine. If the rest of the meal was good, I would still be positive. It was not.

The wine selection was good and fairly priced, but that's where the dinner experience should have stayed. The food was mediocre. The reviews promised good food and portions. The carbonara was bland and more alfredo than carbonara. Spaghetti with cream and cheese. Nothing flavorful. Not creamy, just sticky. No egg and not fresh pasta. I am sure it came from a jar. The pasta was dried and Costco quality. Over cooked. The Ossobuco was average served with very bland egg noodles. Save yourself the disappointment. Find another place to go.

I was responded to by the owner but instead of trying to improve the food quality, simply insists it's my negative reviews. Should have looked deeper as there are many positive reviews. Saw similar tact in other responses, and the place has great potential, but not there currently. Focus on fixing the food and you'll have a wonderful restaurant and get...

WOW! check this place out. Went about 5pm and without reservations but they were still able to fit us in. It was very comfortable and had a homey amazing vibe! I got the eggplant parm appetizer and 10/10(MUST TRY and honestly everyone could get one because I didn’t wanna share haha). We got the spicy linguine/spaghetti and the linguine with mushrooms and red sauce. I forgot the exact names but all dishes at our table were well seasoned and very tasty. Coming from America I will say this was probably the best service I’ve seen in a restaurant in a very long time. They had everything we needed and were beyond on top of it. Before you could think someone was aware and got it. Appreciated the small dining area. Cost was well worth it. The pubs I’ve been to in old Quebec have been way more expensive for not as good as food/experience. I think cost for two people was $70 with huge meals and wine for one. Only tip is make a reservation because not huge amounts of table and it will be worth it! And street parking is sometimes annoying but...

I almost didn’t post this as this was such a delightful locals place. After vacating for 10 days we are no emaciated and were wanting something lighter. We were seated and both quietly enjoyed the sound of our French speaking diners nearby…no English and it was very tranquil….then a large group with children arrived. ;) One course only - I had Ciccio pasta and my wife had the walleye plate. Forgot to take food photos but it was excellent. Great service and eclectic music playlist. Wines by the glass or bottle. Few options but a great local beer. Full service bar - wife had martini. Like Nina this is a must for us to return to on a future visit. Reservations are a good idea…we walked in without one.

Really enjoyed our dinner here! It's a little farther away from Old Quebec (but still easy to get to), so it feels a lot more local and not as touristy. We called the night before to make a reservation - would recommend this as the restaurant isn't particularly big, and was full when we were there on a Saturday night. We ordered from the table d'hôte set menu - escargot with pernod and puff pastry, vegetable soup, cannelloni, and cheesecake. We also ordered a veal scaloppine with mustard and green pepper sauce which comes with pasta. Everything was super tasty, we particularly liked the escargot, veal and cannelloni. Portion sizes are quite large, and food comes out quickly. Great service as well!

By far, the best dining experience of our five days in Quebec. This small Italian bistro tucked on the outskirts of Old Quebec is worth the walk/ride/drive from *anywhere*. It's a formal dining experience in a comfortable and friendly atmosphere. The waiter's wine recommendation was perfect, the spaghetti carbonara was the best I've had, and my husband's fettuccine Alfredo justifies having Olive Garden remove it from their menu as an act of defeat. Then the bill came... and we read it twice to make sure they didn't miss our dessert. We've paid twice as much for half as good. 12/10 must visit.
