This place has been my favourite sushi 🍣 restaurant in QuĂ©bec city for the past 10 years. The forte is the price/quality ratio and the setting. The full course meals are around $25 and include soup, fried tofu, green tea, the chosen dish, dessert. You'll eat to your heart's and stomach's content. The sushi Ă  la carte options are varied and include shark, unagi, tako, urchins along regular types of fish. The restaurant also serves platers of wicked tempura and yummy entrĂ©es such as fried oysters. The service has always been very urban and top notch, the staff is visibly dedicated. The setting is very cosy. The restaurant is owned and operated by Mr. Shimoda-san, the elements of Japanese culture present have an authentic touch. If you pay attention to the soft music, you'll notice that it's Japanese radio streaming. They used to have đŸ‡ŻđŸ‡” TV streaming too, but that was back in the days. The only drawback I see is in comparison to my favourite sushi restaurant in MontrĂ©al, which has more refined sushis and meat dishes. I strongly recommend Tokyo restaurant for a feast. Groups may want to book a quiet Japanese-style room one week or more in advance. Itadakimasu!

Although service was quite inattentive and I had to remind of the tea and other times included in the bento box order at least twice, food is great. Sushi ordered by my wife were fresh, while bento was quite large and included piece of cod, grilled seafood, rice and salad - everything just great. For $22 you get this bento along with soup, dessert and tea, some options available. This is also the place where you are encouraged to bring own alcohol

Very tasty meal, and the server was incredibly friendly and helpful. It should be noted that this establishment does not serve alcohol (a fact that all of the locals seemed to know, but I did not), but they do allow you to bring your own, so stock up before you come. Food was well prepared and the prices were very fair for sushi at dinner.

One of the best traditionnal sushi in Quebec city! Would strongly recommand - If your new to Quebec this restaurant is a byob (so you can bring your own wine/beer and as much as you want/like) The fish there is always fresh! and the service is always super friendly! If you want to visit on friday or saturday call a few days before because they tend to be full on those days! (This is more of a local restaurant then a tourist spot) Update 2024 I’m adding to my review but things since martha (the previous owner) left aren’t the same ; the fud taste great (the portion are smaller since this last winter 2024) but the service is mediocre at best. Slow; unkind; and inexperienced. It frustrating to see one of my favorite spot downgrade like this. I hope this is just because the owner switch...

Great food, great service, big portions for a very cheap price!

My boyfriend and I come here monthly. I will usually have the tofu with veggies and he'll have the tao chicken. For 15$/dish, we get a soup and a big bowl of rice (included when you order any main course). Sometimes, we also get a 6 pieces of avocado hosomakis (but we never finish them!).

Also, the restaurant allows you to bring your wine since they don't have a licence. This definitely makes the experience cheaper. I recommend this to anyone because the atmosphere is great for both couples and groups (they even have closed salons for groups).

The only negative thing is that you can't get there without a reservation! For big groups you gotta call two days prior but for couples they can have a table avalaible...
