The hotel is very nice and very well maintained, however terrible parking for family van sized cars or similars. We had a bad experience during summer on our last day at the hotel with the Air Conditioning. Around 4 PM we complained that our room was at 26 C and temperature would not go down. Julien came to our room and inspected the thermostat, saying that it was working to standard. After 30 minutes the thermostat was reading 27 C. we again complained and the front desk said they would send a technician to our room. He never came. Around 5:30 pm we called in again, and the front desk mentioned that the AC system to our side of the hotel was not working properly and parts where being replaced on the roof top. That it would all be normal by 6:30.
We left the room, when we came back around 800 pm the room was at 25 C. And no cold air coming from the vents. Called front desk again, they mentioned that the fix was recently done and it would take time for the room to cool down.
By 9 Pm, the room temp went up to 27 C because of our presence in the room. I went to the front desk to personally complain, and again a customer relationship person, like Julien, was sent to our room. I stopped him saying that i wanted a technician to look at the issue. Because a customer relationship person was there before and did nothing.
around 9:30 pm a technician showed up, he simply reset the circuit board for our room. The AC noise in our room immediately began working and after a few minutes cold air was coming through the vent.
With the room so warm, and such a hot day, the room took forever to cool down, and we slept on a hot room for the beginning of the night. On the next morning, the thermostat was reading 22 C, although set to 19 C.
It was very frustrating, and maybe if the technician was sent to our room at the time we complained after the fix, we would have slept better that night. The hotel is just too expensive to allow something like this happen.
At the end, they acknowledged their mistake, and did not charge parking for the nights we stayed at the hotel. On top of that, we are almost a week after we checked out and the security deposit for the two rooms we had are still being held on our credit card.

Read moreEverything that could go wrong, did. Some mistakes were understandable, but many were not. Check-in was a mess, taking two staff members and a long wait. After paying, we were told we needed to pay again — both the deposit and room charges — because they had only processed one room instead of the two we had booked.
The rooms were shockingly small, barely fitting two people. Staff insisted everything was correct, even though the bed was smaller than a queen (for two people?!) and only one robe was provided. The bed creaked, and the sheets were worn through in some spots with small holes.
Street noise blasted through the windows all night — bass, music, even vibrating floors — whether from the street or the private event at the hotel itself, who knows. Either way, sleeping was impossible until 1-2am.
The shower was even worse: water randomly switched to scalding hot mid-shower without warning.
The hotel restaurant and bar? It’s a St-Hubert — yes, the fast-food chicken chain — inside what’s supposed to be a 4-star hotel. No real bar either, just a wine dispenser in the lobby that some guests struggled to use.
Clear signage? Nonexistent. Finding the right elevator or your room feels like a guessing game.
Parking? Forget it if you have a van or taller vehicle — there’s a height restriction. We were told to park farther away and pay extra for it.
We stay at hotels regularly — some cheaper, some pricier — and have never experienced a hotel that failed so thoroughly across the board. Laurier somehow managed it. Had we at least been able to sleep, we could’ve shrugged it off. Instead, we paid hundreds of dollars for subpar service, miserable conditions, and no rest.

Read moreWe were travelling for 3 weeks in US and Canada. We stayed for 3 nights in Hotel Chateau Laurier for our holiday in Quebec. We had a very good experience in US where we stayed before we came to Quebec. We had similar expectations from 4 star Hotel Chateau Lauriel. Unfortunately it was a disaster from beginning till the end of the stay. First of all when we checked into hotel we were not told that we will be lucky to experience enormous sound concert happening just outside hotel. If we would know that, we would ask to change rooms. Reception staff made coment that we should have booked our hotel not on line, but on phone, so then we would be aware about concert. After first night our room should be checked by hotel staff and cleaned. When we came back to the room, we saw that bin wasn't changed, table was not cleaned. Hotel receptionist was dismissive and vague to organise team to tidy room. In the morning we experienced Hotel Chateau Lauriel breakfast which was held in St. Hubert cafe. Breakfast buffet table was almost empty. Just few items were available and staff wasn't seen anywhere. After quite a long time we got some staff attention and asked for hot drinks. We asked will be more breakfast available or not? Staff just said that yes it will be more breakfast at self service station available. Unfortunately choice was so poor that we ended up having only coffee and croissant. No hot breakfast option was available. After all I am not a difficult person to please, but at this stay I was so disappointed that I will never stay in Hotel Chateau Lauriel myself again and do not recommend to...
