Absolutely deplorable customer service. We went to this place because of good reviews and were excited. It was closer to brunch time of the day.

The owner (presumably based on the conversation that we ended up having) "greeted" us by ignoring us for a few minutes despite shaving passed us several times and seeing that we were standing in front of the cash register not knowing what to do. He proceeded to make an order for other customers. I then asked him in English (we do not speak French and were visiting Quebec as tourists) what should we do and be said that he would take our order at the cash register "in a moment". He did not tell us we could take a seat and that he would first finish the order and that it would actually take him quite some time (about 10mins). We continued standing at the cash register for all that time.

After serving the order to the other customers he eventually came to the cash register where we were standing and continued his business (checking on a sheet of paper of he had finished all orders). Once done he eventually asked what we wanted. I ordered two crepes and then asked about tea. He had a little stand with a variety of tea bags (about 5 or 6 types of tea) but I did not find jasmine tea and asked of that stand was all that he had and he started becoming sarcastic. He said "what do you mean is that ALL?" as if it was more than enough what he had. I asked if he had jasmine tea and he said no. Then I asked if he had a tea pot to order for two people because I had just seen him serving one to other customers but he said he only serves in cups. Due to English/French language barrier I was trying to understand if he was talking about a pot or a cup. He started making faces to show me that I was annoying him and then showed me the cup. I was trying to understand why I could not get a tea pot.

Anyway, I asked him if I was annoying him because I did not like the tension he was answering my questions with. I felt that I was not a welcomed customer there by the way he was talking to me. He answered that he was a busy guy and the only person working there and did not have time for jokes (despite having just made sarcastic comments about me asking about the varsity of teas a minute ago). I told him that I was not joking and was serious about asking him if I was annoying or not. Long story short he became hostile and told me that my face was "bad". I assume he meant that I was making faces showing lack of patience, which to be fair, could have been the case but after having spent 10 mins waiting standing in front of the cash registry, not being greeted and being ignored and being told a sarcastic remark. I ended up leaving together with my wife without proceeding with our order. While walking away I heard him saying something in French and slamming his notebook that he used for taking orders into the countertop.

Summary: maybe his crepes are not bad (from what I saw he uses generic ultra processed extremely unhealthy bottled whip cream, which is a red flag for me) but customer service is disgusting. If he is that busy, he needs to hire people to work for him to ensure every customer...

I will start with the maple latte was amazing… once we got it. I have never felt so awful after leaving an establishment. There were three of us adults and one four year old. We ordered three lattes and one crepe to go. I saw the young lady at the register write down 3x by the lattes. The first latte and crepe came out. I brought them outside to my family. We came back in to wait for the other two. While we were standing there, it looked like they were making drinks that were not to go. We assumed they forgot or missed the other two lattes. We said something to the lady making the drinks. Complete confusion across all three working there. First, they accused us of not paying for the three lattes. Then it was well you paid for two… which why did they only make one. They looked through their system, then through receipts, and even the young lady we put the order through didn’t remember the ten minutes before. My mom Had to pull up her credit card charge. It was completely embarrassing. It turned out we only paid for two drinks and they made us pay for the other. In this situation, they should have realized they were in the wrong and not charged us. I would have gone back because the latte was so good but after that incident.. I...

The older man serving was rude and uninterested from the outset. Despite the fact the place was completely empty. I would later find out why. Being celiac I told him I needed Gluten free crepes and could he accommodate? The website said Gluten free which is the reason I was there to begin with. I had to repeat the question 3 times so really not sure if this old guy was hard of hearing or had some kind of mental disability. Finally he repeated gluten free and he just stood there looking at me. I finally said “so do you have gluten free?” He kind of grunted which I took at as a yes. It literally took 22 minutes to bring this crepe.

It was stone cold and so hard the plastic fork broke twice trying to get a piece cut off. When I finally cut into it, a small bug came crawling out that made me gag! I showed it to this mentaly challenged man, and he told me it did not come from the crepe.

At that point I just left the plate on the counter and walked out.

It was so disgusting that I had to write this review which I rarely do.

If you are thinking of going to this establishment, save yourself the...

A gem and 1 minute walk from the Hilton (see hint below). The place offers excellent crepes and coffee. Went there twice in the morning for a late breakfast. The family and I tried the smoked salmon, egg, and chicken crepes --all prepared with care and tasted delicious. They have a nice balance of protein, cheese, fresh greens and sauce. The owner runs the shop and prepares everything with pride and the place is clean. It is a one man show, so be patient. If it gets busy, he will tell you the wait time upfront. He is not being rude but honest, and from what I observed, his time estimate is pretty good. From the Hilton, take the garage elevator to 1. Exit immediately through the door to the right. Cross the street and take the walking path downhill to the next street (path is painted red). The restaurant is about 4 shops up the street on the left.

During my breakfast visit to Sultan Cafe, I was thoroughly impressed with the experience. The ambiance exuded warmth and coziness, setting the perfect tone for the morning. I opted for their egg crepe, and it exceeded my expectations with its flawless execution. The crepe itself was cooked to perfection, and the combination of eggs and tomatoes created a delightful flavor profile. The service was exceptional, with the staff being attentive, friendly, and efficient. I wholeheartedly recommend Sultan Cafe for its delicious food, impeccable service, and inviting atmosphere. I can't wait to return and explore more of their enticing menu offerings.

Such a great find!!! Incredible crepes, and the best latte I have had on our vacation in Montreal and Quebec City! Cute atmosphere inside with relaxing smooth jazz music. It’s a one man show so just know that you will be waiting a bit for your food, but the owner is honest in letting you know how many people are ahead of you, and it’s definitely worth the wait! We will be back!!!
