Fabulous culinary experience! Went to this restaurant on a Saturday night with my two adolescents kids and all of us enjoyed everything about this place. From the warm reception, the classic asian decor, lights were low with nice music for atmosphere, the quality and politeness of the service and the food we had was so so delicious 🤤! We started with appetizers : WONTON SOUP; it had plenty of « Quebec Porc » wonton in the soup and their Pho-inspired broth (chicken, porc, beef) was out of this world good. QUEBEC WAGYU BEEF-CURRY DUMPLINGS; Five, medium size fried dumplings, filled with this Wagyu beef preparation were very tasty and the mango chutney added a beautiful sweet taste to them. We had three different main course: SAKE ORANGE CHICKEN; The lightly breaded chicken pieces were juicy and of good size, cooked perfectly and delicious. The orange-sake sauce was exactly has described (sweet, spicy & tangy). Rice is served in a separate bowl at an extra cost. GENERAL TAO’S CHICKEN: Exactly like you think a Tao Chicken tastes like but so much more tastier 😋. The chicken is lightly breaded with a very nice portion . Rice is also served as a side dish for an extra cost. SAKE ORANGE BEEF: It’s basically the same as the Sake Orange Chicken except the beef strips are marinated in Sake which makes it so much more delicious to me. Add the sweet, spicy, tangy sauce to it and green onions on a bed of rice (sold separately) is a perfect dish! Fortune cookies were very good and always fun to read. We had a good laugh!😂 If you prefer to eat with chopsticks,🥢 you can, just ask for them, they will gladly bring some to you. All the portions were perfect to all of us. Better reserve a lot in advance because they are always full almost every night, that’s how good this restaurant is. (not open on Mondays & Tuesdays) We will go back for sure...
Read moreTHE FOOD The food was descent, typical with any westernized chinese restaurant food. The variety is low unlike with an actual chinese restaurant and most of it is overcook to dryness in the rice or toughness in the meat. Food also took half an hour to arrive even though the restaurant was pretty empty. The prices aren't cheap and the portions aren't big either.
THE RESTAURANT Overall the restaurant looks good from the inside, but they cover the tables with paper to (assuming) cut costs. The tables are set like a typical western style with a napkin, fork, spoon, and knife on the left side. This is not like an actual chinese restaurant and removes from the experience and ambiance.
THE SERVICE The service was overall bad. All the employees look under 20 and our server was really impatient with us ordering, even though the restaurant was pretty empty. We had to request a water refill and they ran out of water in the pitcher after refilling half of our table so we assumed that she went back to get more water, turns out she wasn't and we had to request for the rest of our table to get more water. After all of this, the most infuriating part comes...
THE WORST PART The server basically PRESSURED us into giving them a 15% tip. Even after the poor service, our service pressured us to give a 15% tip citing taxes as the reason.
CONCLUSION If you're looking for authentic Chinese food or good service, this is not the place. If you want westernized chinese food and just want to find a place to eat, you could go here. But the prices aren't cheap and the portions aren't big and there are many other places...
Read moreYou will not feel like you’re in Old Quebec when you’re in this place. The aesthetics, the decor and the guzheng will make you feel like you’re in China! There’s a lady playing the guzheng, also known as a Chinese zither, which is a Chinese plucked string instrument with a more than 2,500-year history, and she plays it so well. That my friend will give the right feels and will make the place seem even more vibrant! Kudos to that lady for playing us all some really good music. Our server was very helpful, a young man with a good knowledge about food and NFL. He suggested portions and combinations. We got egg rolls, chicken sweet and sour, chicken fried rice, chicken lowmein and vegetables with tofu. This fed four people but mind you, the portions are pretty big. My favorite out of these dishes was the chicken lowmein (yes, not chowmein but lowmein). It had a very nice texture and was flavorful. The vegetables with tofu was really good but it’s on the spicy side. We were delighted with how quick the food came and we ate like we’d never eaten before (we had a quick breakfast in the morning around 9am and were eating lunch/dinner at 5pm). We were hungry!!! It was definitely a good choice to walk into this eatery. The toilets are clean and the place looks beautiful. It was our first time here since we were traveling to Quebec from Toronto, but when we do travel back to Quebec again, I will be going here for the food! I recommend this place to...
