There really is nothing good to say about Boston Pizza. This location really seems to have hit bottom, setting a new low.
The lowlights: Mary B needs refresher training or... something. How do you ruin bacon? $85 before tip for 3 meals and 2 drinks ( no alcohol)
On a Sunday road trip, agreed to meet a friend for lunch. She chose BP, or I would never have been here.
Greeted nicely, seated right away. A good start! Decor different than I remember, more like a sports bar. Lots of TVs, people sitting at the bar watching games.
Our waitress was Mary B. B would be a generous grade. Turns out to be Mary C-.
She was just disinterested, and not attentive.
When our friend arrived she (guest) asked if we could move to a table from the booth (mobility issues). We move everything over and I stood to communicate to Mary that we needed to move. She eventually brushed past me, and I told he we had moved and why. Her charming reply, "I can see that."
That's one example of Mary's charm.
Anyway, ordered food, and it was all bland and not very good. A Quesadilla came out ridiculously over cooked and burnt, but somehow made it past the amazing kitchen staff, and past Mary's keen observation skills!
When we commented on it, ("hey this is over cooked"), Mary's high level customer service training kicked in. She said, "oh. Do you want me to take it back?" Not sure what they other options where, but yes, please take it back Mary.
I had a salad with grilled chicken. It tasted more boiled than grilled. (The chicken, not the salad. Well... yeah let's go with that). In classic BP style the toppings where all just recycled pizza toppings. Shredded cheese and crumbled bacon. How do you ruin bacon? Just ask the "culinary" team at Boston Pizza. The candied pecans on the salad where really good.
Another of our party had a sandwich called the Brute. I asked how it was. "The fries where good."
When the bill arrived Mary brought the machine and stood looking over my shoulder. I presume to make sure I knew how to tip.
As soon as I tapped my card, Mary left. Didn't take the machine or give me my copy. Just left.
I took my copy and we talked for a while. After 10 minutes Mary came back to receive the machine, and tore off her copy of the receipt to give to me. More keen observation skills at work.
Total disappointment, yet totally expected.
Food- terrible Service - even worse "Ambiance" - it was fine (although it was absolutely freezing in there)
If the food was better (will never be, this was exactly down to BP standards) and the service was passable (not great, just decent), this would be an ok place to eat.
$85 pre tip for 3 people, for lunch, no alcohol, but plenty...
Read moreso me and my girlfriend went out on a afternoon date here expecting the same quality as I am used to where I live here in the falls or over in Belleville. This is what we got... We were waiting at the door for about seven minutes in that time I made eye contact with all of the servers on staff and the bartender all of them including the GM seem to ignore us. Finally we looked at our watches and phones enough that we we're seated in the booth bar area. The GM or FOHM whom showed us to our table didn't bother appologizing about the wait. We sat a bit longer and the bartender came over and asked us if we wanted a drink I said awesome and we ordered our drinks and a cheese bread app. Everything came out as good as ordered as far as apps and drinks. Now our entree's chicken club and a steak sub I pondered my order because on the menu it states 8oz steak on a French roll which was 17$ now a 8oz steak.. is like 23$ I really didn't ask but I noticed. So after a while our entree's came out slow time probably about 20 mins after apps which in my world as a 25 year experienced cook, this is really slow. Especially since there was about 7 pple eating in the whole place. Now my girlfriend's sandwich was completely on point but my steak sub was ordered med rare... 125 at the most this steak was done and clearly not 8oz. So when the bartender came over and asked I cut through the middle and asked him if this was med rare "not in my world it is" he said. And took it back. Now I work at a sports bar in the Casino in the Falls if I get a send back I put it at the top of the chits and I blasted we'll make sure it's done properly. Also a steak sandwich med rare should take about 5mins tops. This took another 15 and then I got it medium. At least it had pink in it and I finished my meal... During the whole ordeal management never came out to appologize or even so much as did a table check on us. Its unfortunate that because there isn't to many places to eat that are in Trenton that are any good... But none of them could have ever known that a family friend of mine is Shane Kennedy the corporate trainer for Boston Pizza and now Heading up The Workx. Suggestions for running a franchise... Treat every customer like you love them all. Do table checks regularly and of course don't leave pple standing at the door for more than 2 minutes they're is absolutely no excuse for any of your faults other than being sloopy and lazy... On the bright side our...
Read moreOh boy BP, how you have changed. Used to be my favourite go to restaurant for some pasta, pizza and salad. Now I don't recommend it to anyone, especially the BP in Trenton. Belleville locations service and atmosphere is better in my opinion. Since they renovated, it's a cold atmosphere in there, not as cozy as it used to be. Nothing on the walls. Just super simple and no colour. Makes the restaurant loud and echoes. When we arrived for our lunch yesterday, a blonde hostess didn't even smile at us, just said "for 4?" In a miserable voice and walked away where we assumed we follow her to a seat. She took us to a booth which we didnt get an option whether we wanted a table or booth (we were the only guests other than another man eating a table) and she sits us right beside him. We have a toddler. He seemed annoyed. Sorry sir. Not sure why she sat us right beside you when there was a whole open restaurant. Also put us right beside the drink machine, the last place you sit guests when a restaurant is full, it wasn't. Didn't ask if we wanted a highchair so we had to wait for her to come back so we could ask which we could never find her. Then when we did get the highchair, our toddler didn't want to sit in it until she had her food so she sat beside us. The waitress asked us twice if she could take it away. Umm no, we need it for when we have our meal (which sat under the heat lamp for obviously a long time) while she was busy I guess. The food was mediocre at best. My pasta wasnt freshly cooked as the noodles were hard and crispy. The sauce had barely any flavour. The Caesar salad was gross, dressing was watery. She finally give us the bill, we say debit, she gives us the machine and walks away. She never came back so we got up to leave. Both her and the hostess are standing near the door and didn't say a word to us as we leave. Haha great customer service BP! We definitely won't be back. Do better. And train your staff to smile once in awhile 😊 a smile goes a long way. And would have made our experience better right...
