2024-08-13 Update: The manager just replied to this review again. Take note of the fact that they still don't take any accountability for the poor food quality and instead continue to blame us for not bringing the issues up with the server.
They also don't really address my comments about the server that spends most of his time talking with his friends instead of working. An accurate description? He's the guy not working!!! And why are you asking for this information almost a year later? The guy probably doesn't even work there anymore!
There is zero accountibilty by the manager here, which is probably why this location is so terrible.
We don't go to any Leo's locations anymore. Horrible food quality, tired menu and management that doesn't give a damn drove us away.
Original review: We Love Leo's and were pretty happy when they opened a location in the South end. The South location opened strong but we haven't been all that impressed recently. We've had abysmal service and the food has gone downhill fast.
During one visit about a month ago, our server only made it to the table three times because he was too busy chatting with the female members of staff to do his job. He took our drink order and our food order. He didn't check in to see how the food was or to ask if we wanted another beverage. When we finally got fed up and decided to leave we had to flag him down to get the bill.
Yesterday we stopped in for breakfast. When the food came everything was cold. I ordered a breakfast poutine but I was served regular hash-browns. The hash-browns were soggy (and cubed! When did Leo's switch from the hickory stick cut? Those were way better!). My breakfast burrito didn't come with salsa or sour cream (perhaps they don't?!). The burrito was cold. The service was fine but the food wasn't.
I don't know what has happened at this location but things need to improve. As it is I don't see myself going here again.
In reply to the owner/management's response: I notice that you didn't address the server you have working there that spends more time chatting than working. I guess you don't see that as an issue? Perhaps that is why the service is hit and miss at this location?
As far as addressing the issues with the food at the time of service: a staff that gets orders wrong and thinks it's ok to serve cold food isn't a staff that I trust to "make it right". A female server brought us are drinks plopped them on the table and walked away. We sat there waiting for the male server to take our order we ended up ordering. Me and my friend orders the parm bombs and deep fried pickles and the queso dip. We noticed people around us were getting there food before us even tho they came later. Finally are good comes out and the order is completely wrong we end up telling our server he then looks at me and says yes this is what u ordered I said no it's not. He just left it with us. At this point are drinks are empty so we quietly eat are food he didn't come to us for another 20 minutes. We then wanted to order dessert my friend asked how are the churros the waiter responded there churros as he was behind the bar texting so another about 25 minutes are dessert comes it was dryer then dry not good at all. So i asked for a box we then asked for our bill he went and sat at the bar for 20 more minutes as we asked for the bill. He comes back after that 20 minutes and says just ur tabs and we said yes! First off, none of the locations have a phone which is absolutely ridiculous. I ordered for pickup for the first time yesterday. I put in the incorrect time to pickup and wanted to change something in the order so it gave me a phone number to call. I tried to call probably about 10 times from 3pm-430pm (not peak times) and no one answered, there was no option for a voice message and no one called me back. I finally found another number to call which had a vm recording to email them. I sent them an email. The response was very disappointing as the person didn't have a sniff of what was going on. First off they said they couldn't change pu time because I ordered through doordash (I ordered through the website which is apparently doordash) so they didn't have control over anything. Then they told me the order was going to be delivered when I drove all the way there for pu. I was finally able to talk to someone in person and pickup our food.
