I' ve been living in Regina for many years and also had a chance to learn how the fast-food and restaurant industry works as an employee- part of the reason why I've never shared my bad experiences as a customer for any other place in the city in a Google review. I know first hand how hard it is sometimes to make every single visitor happy! And it is not rocket science!!! So I was very disappointed after my 1st visit to the Second Cup a few days ago! I was just talking to the girl at the counter when her co-worker rudely interrupted me - he just appeared out of nowhere ( must have been in there staff area before that) Instead of helping me to get an extra lid for a cup that I was asking the girl about he started shouting "Cup! " and "There!" and "Cup!Cup!!!" multiple times as I stood there absolutely shocked by rudeness and ZERO clue about basic rules of good customer service ! Anyway, he was just using a mixture of gestures and insufficient vocabulary , as it turned out, to make me get the cup that I had put in the garbage container and place it in a cardboard box on the counter( where they serve the orders near cash register and clean supplies!!!) I couldn't believe it but I did find my cup in the large garbage bag and put it where the guy pointed! He was not even there in the 1st place and probably just watched me on there camera in the staff room! And funny part is that there was no recycling container with a "CUPS ONLY" on it and because it is sort of gross to put used cups anywhere near food or drinks that are being served I would not even think to use an old paper box ON COUNTER TOP to dispose of my used cup!! I wonder how this place even passed a food safety and health inspection ?!! I just know for fact it is NOT ALLOWED BY FOOD SAFETY REGULATIONS IN CANADA!!! Anyway I just wanted the owners to make some improvements - they might be able to fix the problem with some basic training for there staff about showing some respect for visitors by listening to them and helping them ! And they should spend a few hundred dollars on proper recycling containers! And they MOST DEFINITELY NEED TO TAKE SAFETY seriously - garbage and used cups do not belong on they same surface where food is being served!!!!! And did I mention that I was not able to find napkins on their self-serve tables/ counters- they appear to be saving on that one big time! as there was a box of tissues (ONE for the entire resstaurant perhaps from the nearby dollar store, I believe, and not something one could see at Tim's in a proper napkin dispenser etc.! I do respect people who work in the industry but after such an experience you kind of begin to agree that not all people are created equal and some employees can't even prove they deserve a minimum wage! No SECOND CUP in this place- very very...
Read moreThis is a great location, and most importantly, they have drive through! I've been waiting for a good coffee shop to have a drive through in my area because I have young kids and don't want to deal with getting them in and out of the car if I want something like Starbucks. The only other options have been Tim Hortons and McDonald's coffee which is good in a pinch but definitely not premium.
The inside is really nicely designed and very big with lots of space and light, and nice touches like tap-style milk and cream instead of canisters.
The drive through is a bit confusing because it's just a sign behind the building and there isn't a lot of space if there are cars parked there, but hey, if I don't have to get out of my car, I won't complain.
The service has been good so far, but the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because they gave me the wrong drink last time I ordered. In their defence, it was a green tea lemonade that I ordered and they gave me a frozen lemonade instead so it was only really half wrong.
Overall it's a great place to go for a drink and/or a snack, and I'll be switching to Second Cup instead of Starbucks for my...
Read moreEast end second cup doesn’t even open on time. Door still locked. One person in there. Speaker at drive thru is broken. What kind of establishment doesn’t even open on time? Since when does a COFFEE shop open late?! Rochdale opens at 7am? This place is a dumpster fire. Get better.
Response to the reply: A wonderful story of fiction. I was there five minutes before opening, watched the lights come on, the open sign wasn’t turned on yet. Waited til 9am. Still not on. Proceeded to drive thru. After waiting for several minutes, shouting, reading the faded paper indicating broken speaker system. Followed instructions, shouted louder, then proceeded to the window where I found someone, back turned, red shirt, then disappeared completely. Left angrily approximately 9:05. Excessively long wait for the actual first customer. Simple solution: Improve your...
