I recently visited and while there were some positives, a few things left me feeling it wasn’t quite worth the experience. First off, the wait time was surprisingly long. Even though it wasn’t overly crowded, it took a good 15 minutes to get my coffee after ordering, which seemed excessive for a coffee shop. It might be understandable if they were extremely busy, but that wasn’t the case during my visit, so the wait felt unnecessary.
Price-wise, I found the drinks to be on the high side. While I don’t mind paying for quality coffee, this shop’s prices seemed a bit steep, especially compared to other local spots offering similar options. A regular cup of coffee here was closer to specialty coffee pricing, and it adds up quickly if you’re a frequent visitor.
On the upside, the coffee itself was excellent. They clearly put effort into their brewing process, and the flavor was rich and well-balanced. I had a cortado, and it was beautifully crafted with just the right texture and taste. For a coffee enthusiast, this shop definitely delivers in terms of quality.
However, one major drawback for me was the lack of gluten-free options. In this day and age, it's fairly common for cafes to cater to different dietary needs, so it was disappointing not to see any gluten-free pastries or snacks available.
Overall, it's a solid spot for a high-quality coffee, but the slow service, high prices, and limited menu options make it a bit hard to justify as a regular go-to. If you don’t mind a wait and are solely focused on good coffee, it might be worth a try, but keep the...
Read moreCame here on a weekday around lunchtime, and it was busy and lively without feeling overcrowded. The space is airy and light, a real nice spot to stay and linger. Service was friendly, knowledgeable, and fast.
I had a herb & garlic bagel sandwich, brown butter donut, and a cortado. For me, the sandwich was the standout. As other reviewers mention, the dill pickle cream cheese really makes it pop. I found the icing of the donut too sweet for me, but if they had a plain donut...I would get it shipped to me cross country. Both the bagel and donut get a tang and a dense bite from the sourdough, very welcome for someone who likes texture. Coffee was delicious, and it's clear they pay equal attention to their drinks.
Accessibility (just for info, not factored into rating):
There is level access from the sidewalk with no level changes to navigate both inside and out. I did not see auto door operators for entrances or washrooms. Space to navigate around the cafe is wide and generous. Variety of fixed and moveable seating is provided at multiple heights. Chairs have backrests but no armrests that I could see. There are high chairs available and a baby change table in the washrooms. Washrooms are gender neutral single rooms. There are grab bars and wheelchair transfer space, though the toilet paper dispenser and waste basket currently obstruct the transfer area. The sink has knee clearance below, though the counter seems a titch high. Auto faucet and manual soap dispenser are within reaching distance. I came on foot so not sure about availability of...
Read moreThis place is my go to for anything coffee or doughnut related (I have been a few times), I have tried chains and other independents but nothing compares to the consistent quality from The Everyday Kitchen, plus you are supporting a local business too. Matcha Latte is one of favourites and it never fails to impress, its delicate notes and creamy almond milk is a great way to enjoy a morning catching up with friends. Doughnuts are delicious as are the bagels, my favourite is Pistachio Cream and the Everything Bagel. The Hamilton St location is my favourite and has a great warehouse / loft style vibe and sits in the warehouse district which is also my favourite part of town too. It’s nice to see a local business thrive as much and repurpose a disused space and bring back new life. It is really warm and cozy yet industrial chic. Being European (only lived in Saskatchewan for 2 years), I have struggled to find good quality food and drink in Regina and this place is by far top of my list. I live an hour out but always make the detour on shopping day to this gem. Staff don’t get enough credit in the comments, they are all amazing, friendly, have advice and good pairing suggestions with no rush to it, everything is carefully crafted by artisans. Sorry for the essay but when you find great places with great people selling great products we need to ensure we sing...
