I should have turned around the moment I had to be buzzed into the lobby because of the homeless that frequent the building and designated parking area. I am thankful my vehicle was not broken into or robbed to and from the hotel lobby as there were many homeless trolling the parking lot looking into vehicle windows.||||When I travel for business, and use Wingate by Wyndham, there is a level of quality which is expected (from past experiences), otherwise I would stay at a Motel 6, which I don't. Wingate by Wyndham Regina is a 2 star hotel at best.||||When I had booked my room online, there was no indication that a parking fee would be charged upon arrival. I was informed by the front desk staff at check in, that this hotel does not have own any parking spots, thus I was required to pay $16 to park overnight or face a $100 fine and or vehicle being towed. The front clerk said the fee of $16 was “Right on the website” however, he was clearly mistaken as there was nothing on the Wingate by Wyndham booking site for the $16 parking fee. ||||When I woke up the next morning, the shower was inoperable. I gathered all of my belongings from the room and proceeded to the front desk. The staff of three, independent thinking people deemed it appropriate to not offer a room that had a working shower as that would require having to clean another room? How is it even possible that the housekeeping did not notice that the shower was not working and how could the shower even be cleaned from the last guest? Paying full room rate when I can't even take a shower has left me dismayed. ||||Obviously, this is a repetition of extremely poor training. It is disconcerning having to file a complaint at the corporate level to receive any kind of response, despite being told I would receive a call when the manager arrived for their shift at 9am Saturday morning. An email was also sent Saturday morning to Wingate by Wyndham Regina management with no reply as well. The problems needed to be escalated to the corporate level with very limited success. ||||What I have experienced by the staff, the emailed reply to my problems, and the quality of this facility does warrant Wingate by Wyndham being able to label their hotel as a 3 star. ||||Moving forward, I will exercise caution in my decision in choosing the Wingate by Wyndham brand as a whole due to this unsettling situation and culture of...

Read moreI would not recommend staying at this hotel. The beds were terrible. About the worst I've ever had. Service was brutal. About the worst I've ever had. It was way over priced. Very poor value. The carpet was dirty. There was hair in the sink and tub. Parking is not secure. There's tons of road noise. I'd give this hotel a -10 if I could. It was so bad I plan on avoiding all Wyndham Hotels out of fear of ending up in a craphole like this again. I literally can't find a positive to even mention here. I looked again. I'll definitely be letting everyone I can know to avoid this hotel and any Wyndham Hotels. Oh did I mention the bedding didn't get changed? There's stains on it and lines from a person sleeping on it. Update- when I went to leave I had a parking ticket on my windshield. Everyone in the parkade did. So I brought it in and asked for the manager. Scott- informed me that many people write their license plate down wrong. Well he confirmed I didn't. Neither did any of the other people in line with their tickets. Well it was the parking guys fault he assured me. He said he "can" take care of it. Big favor to me after I already paid them for parking. I asked if I'd be getting that ticket in the mail. He said "I shouldnt". Needless to say I called the parking company myself and she confirmed it was the hotels fault. He then informed me that at 1 am I should have just called them about my room not having been cleaned properly. Even though the front desk girl told me it was their last room. He implied it wasn't his fault that the staff hadn't been trained properly. So $182 later I left and went straight to the chiropractor because my neck was so sore from the rock hard pillow and...
