I had the Boston cream donut and the breakfast bagel with a coffee in this gem of a place, established 35 years ago. My review is of personal taste preference.
Unfortunately, the donut dough didn’t have that chewy texture I enjoy, although the interior crumb was light and had the classic donut airy consistency. The dough was a thin layer sandwiching a heaping of light and airy whipped cream centre, personally I prefer a higher dough to filling ratio. The chocolate layer on top was more of a brittle sugar crust than a rich dark chocolate glaze. I visited at 11am on a Sunday, so I wonder if I had come earlier it’d have been more fresh. The pearl there though was that it’s prepared in house which added joy to my experience nonetheless.
The everything breakfast bagel was fantastic, although not baked in house. I asked for all the toppings, and the result was a densely packed, lightly toasted bagel with a satisfying chew and a mix of textures and flavours. The scrambled eggs were perfectly cooked and retained a pleasant creamy moisture that complemented the hearty chew of the bagel.
Overall I enjoyed visiting, I had great service with a diner style vibe, and had pleasant interactions with...
Read moreService is ALWAYS top notch. Have been getting sandwiches and donuts here since 2014 with consistent quality. The person that has had things put on their sandwiches they didn't ask for clearly needs to speak up, or be more clear as they have never once screwed up on mine, or anyone's I have sent/taken there. The person complaining about being out of donuts on a Saturday... Well, when they are AMAZING, they sell out. What would you like them to do? This isn't Tim Hortons, they don't have an army in another province pre-cooking donuts and food items to ship out.🤦 The person saying they can make everything better at home... Let's try a donut or sandwich you've made?
Photo below was my most recent sandwich(cold cut), with exactly what I asked for on it. Country Corner is an amazing locally owned business, and it sucks when people would rather bash online and social media than go speak to the owner. He is one of the nicest kindest people you'll ever meet.

Read moreI go here for lunch a few times a week. Their sandwiches are very affordable, and they taste so fresh compared to a sandwich you'd buy at a coffee chain or a fast food place. The food is cheaper than fast food, and much better. I always get the chicken salad sandwich. Their donuts are great too. Their Boston cremes have whipped cream in the middle instead of pudding, which is what a Boston creme should be. They also sell massive sharable donuts, which I haven't seen anywhere else. The owner is a kind man and the staff are always pleasant. I've probably eaten there 50 times and I've never had a bad experience. SO glad we have something like this in Regina, thank you guys for...
