Honestly surprised by all the top reviews here. We found it very mid! The pros: The serve at the counter was amazing, the lovely person taking my order was a pleasure. Pancakes are tasty and fluffy, and lattes were delightful especially the Caramilk one
The cons: The pancakes, although good, don’t come with any butter and very little syrup (cause it’s the good stuff!) so they end up dry. Butter would make these 10/10, and more syrup on the larger stacks. The breakfast sandwich - also very dry. Nothing on the bread and no seasoning, but the actual items were cooked perfectly and good quality. The egg and sausage breakfast was a mix. The toast and eggs were great, the sausage is more like kielbasa which I wasn’t expecting and don’t really like much. The potatoes were good and the only thing truly well seasoned.
A small nit picky thing that will matter to some but not others is they make homemade ketchup which sounds great but is truly just crushed tomatoes and that’s not what I want on my potatoes lol. Not a fan, and would have ordered differently had I known I couldn’t have normal ketchup. The plus side is my partner used it for his dry sandwich, which improved it a bit.
Lastly, the service after the counter doesn’t exist. You are asked to tip up front before knowing how the service will be, and nobody comes to check in to see if your food is good or if you need anything, which imo means I shouldn’t be tipping 18% - I would not tip that at a fast food place that drops my food at the table. I am a pretty high tipper normally, 18% is on my lower end, but if you’re only getting minimal service the tip standard should be lower imo.
I’d come back for baked goods, bread and coffee, but would Probably get my...
Read moreToday was our last day in Revelstoke and we were looking for something different with less sugar coating than the bakery that we had been going to. OMG did we hit the jack-pot when we found Terra Firma's Kitchen. I'm so sad that we didn't do more exploring before our week was over. When you walk into Terra Firma's Kitchen, its like walking into your grandmother's kitchen . The amazing aroma from all of the fresh baked breads and pastries was over the top. I have been feeding my own sourdough starter so had to try their sourdough pancakes. They were amazing and so good that I couldn't leave without taking the 3rd leftover pancake with me - it was even delicious cold. My husband had sausages with egg, hash browns and a few slices of their homemade bread.
Don't make the same mistake we did. Oh your next trip to Revelstoke make sure you make your way to Terra Firma's Kitchen. The experience far outweighs any challenges that you might have...
Read moreWe had the latte, cappucino and espresso this morning. Coffee is good, acidic and sour with a strong taste, on the shorter side for the milk. I also got the cream donut with a chocolate glaze. It’s an interesting experience for a donut, if you like thin dough donuts with a generous cream filling you’ll recognize your taste right there. The cream is light and not too sugary which is important to not hide the dough’s flavour, still you’ll find your sugar kick in the chocolate glaze. Personally I think some food should be eaten with your hands, and donuts are a perfect example. Like KFC “licking your fingers” is part of the experience. With this particular donut you’ll find it hard to do so, but Terravita provides proper cuttlery, and the donuts literally fly off the shelves so I don’t think it’s a bother for their clients....
