A good solid 3-star for me. I rented the micro suite for 2 nights. The room was on the first floor facing the street. The blinds worked very well. I had no problem checking in since they text you all the information. The room itself was clean and very welcoming. The bed was soft and cozy. The kitchen came with Tazo tea and coffee courtesy of Dose Coffee across the street. I also like the fact that they give you a code to your room rather than a card. I am always afraid of losing the room card!
HOWEVER, the walls were PAPER THIN!!!! I stayed in a room with a connecting door and I could hear EVERYTHING next door. Everything from conversations to drawers opening and closing and electric toothbrushes running. Absolutely no insulation in between walls. I was lucky that my neighbors were mostly quiet and did not throw late night parties. This is my only real complaint. I read reviews that said their room was quiet and others where they said rooms with connecting doors were the worst. Since this room was on the first floor, you can hear people walking and talking up and down the streets as well as the car lights. But this did not bother me since I was raised on something like this.
This is not a traditional hotel where you will get front desk service 24/7. The time I was staying there, the lady working the desk was only there on weekends. If you need anything (like extra towels for example), you have to probably ask before they leave. I was very fortunate that corporate employees worked there on weekdays 8-4 so they allowed me to store my stuff at the front desk (since no one was working it) while I was out on the mountain and waiting for my bus. If this does not suit you, then do not stay here.
Overall, I did enjoy my stay here, except for the paper thin walls. It is in the center of downtown, so you will have plenty of choices to eat. I walked everywhere from here. If I were to stay here again, I would ask for a room with no...
Read moreLove this Basecamp Suite. Ours was 2-stories with 2 bedrooms and 2.5 baths.|We appreciated the location in the heart of Revelstoke. |Note: this is the second Basecamp property in Revelstoke. The other one is the Resort and is located on the edge of town. The Basecamp Suites I’m writing about is right in town near the restaurants, coffee shops and shopping.| |Our 2-storey suite was accessible on the second level (I believe the complex is 3-storeys). There are NO elevators to take you up to the second level of the hotel. |The suite was so huge! Entry level is where the 2 bedrooms are with 2 full bathrooms. Upstairs was open concept kitchen dining and living room with small balcony and a small bathroom. There is no fireplace in the suite.|What needed to be improved during our stay was squeaky doors - every single door squeaked loudly (on the bedroom level). So in the middle of the night, we would all wake up when anyone used the bathroom. Ugh. We asked to get this problem fixed, but it never was in 3 days. |Also, we realized the shampoo and conditioner containers weren’t checked prior to our arrival. Not okay to find this out while in the shower. And one of the installed dispensers fell off the wall and bruised a toe. The maintenance guy fixed it the same day. ||Other than that, it was a pretty nice place to stay and highly recommend. Not an inexpensive place to stay, but it is a quality, quiet place. Next time, I hope to give this place a 5/5.|Check in and out was easy and smooth.|Toiletries were from Rocky Mountain Soap Company (awesome)!|The coffee provided for the suite was so good! |The large Kitchen was well stocked with cups, glasses, dishes, silverware etc.||It’s the perfect place for those who want to check out this neat mountain...
