Having promised my 10 year old daughter a quick cone, we arrive to a locked door at the Yonge and Elgin Mills location (10520 Yonge St, Richmond Hill) and rudely informed with hand gestures pointing to the hours of operation that they were closed. When in fact it wasn't closing time as clearly shown on the clock above her head (see photo). Not a catastrophic incident - I get that. But tell that to my daughter waiting a week for her cone. It was nearly closing time and probably a long day for the staff - I get that too. With an explanation, an apology maybe, that they thought there would be no more customers and cashed out, or whatever the reason they did not have 60 seconds to serve us (45 second to make the mini cone and 15 seconds to tap the visa card). Instead we get a rude hand gesture, and told it was past closing time, when in fact it clearly was not. Really just the bad attitude that set me off. Anyways, I have choices, I'm close to the Major Mackenzie and Leslie store (where the service is always great BTW), but because I choose this location there was no time to make it there before the "real" closing time. Anyways, I see no reason to visit this...
Read moreToday I went to this store and bought 3 jars of ice cream. As usual, I asked for 2 spoons. In the past, the store sales associate had never told me that I was supposed to be charged 0.25 cents each for the spoon. But today the sales associate who has a curly grey hair and wearing an eye glasses told me that next time I will be charged for the spoon because nowadays, everything is expensive. I would understand that. But then, he is going on and on about the plastics uses associated with environmental issues and criticizing me for that just because I asked for two spoons after I bought three jars ice cream from him. He wants to make me feel bad for myself, which is not acceptable. He knows nothing about me. He has no grant to criticize me. Besides, if he cares about plastic overuses, he should not provide plastic spoons, replacing them with environmentally friendly spoons. I hope I won’t see him again next time when I go to this store. Unfortunately this is the closest chain store nearby. If I had a choice, I wouldn’t go to this...
Read moreYesterday I brought my kids in for an ice cream after school around 4pm. They were excited as they checked out the flavours and then they went to the washroom to wash their hands, as one always should before eating. As I was ordering, the man behind the counter was not friendly to the point of hostility. And while I waited to pay, I saw him going to the washroom to lock it so that no-one could use it. As I believe that good behaviour should be rewarded, and bad behaviour reprimanded and corrected, I will say this:
