Tochal Restaurant — Restaurant in Richmond Hill

I am extremely disappointed with the recent decline in the quality and service of this place.

I used to be a regular customer, but every recent order has been riddled with issues. The overall quality of their food seems to be diminishing daily.

Today, I ordered their Salari through Uber, only to find that the food had leaked through the plastic packaging, creating a mess when opened in the office. Despite being just five minutes away, the food arrived extremely cold and the uber driver delivered our order with priority (so nothing to blame here). The kebab was undercooked, appearing pink inside, and the quality of the tomatoes was questionable.

The service has deteriorated too. Previously, they used to include a salad with the order, but now they simply add the dressing and yogurt to the salad packaging, reducing the actual salad content. It’s embarrassing at this point – they should consider raising prices instead of compromising on portions. The so-called salad now consists of only two small pieces of lettuce.

To add to the disappointment, they used to provide a whole green pepper with the order, but today they even cut that in half (you can see in the picture). I am puzzled by the recent changes and decline in this place’s standards.

As a Scarborough native, looking for delicious food in Richmond Hill has been a challenge. After discovering Tochal, I am pleased to say I no longer need to make a commute in search of delicious cuisine. I first found Tochal a few months ago through Skip the Dishes. I have since made the decision to purchase directly from the restaurant to support this business in its entirety.

The food from here is absolutely delicious. It always tastes fresh and seems to definitely be made with love and passion. I decided to order a few trays for a family party and every single guest could not get enough of the kebabs, chicken, rice, and tomatoes. At the next party, we ordered more so everyone would be able to take a sizeable amount of food home.

The staff of the establishment are very friendly. I have always had a good experience picking up my food. I haven't yet had the pleasure to sit down and eat a meal inside, but hopefully once pandemic restrictions are fully lifted, I will be able to bring a few friends along for a bite to eat.

A value for money choice if you are hungry! Lots of parking spots in the plaza so don’t worry at all! Not a fancy place for a date or a formal business lunch but still a good place for casual meal The atmosphere and decoration could use some renovation and remodelling We ordered a Torsh Kabab with rice. Decent size Kabab with standard taste for people who love sour kabab. Would have been better if it was served with Persian rice. Also ordered Dizi which was delicious in good portion. I would serve it with fresh bread and make it a little bit more colourful (similar to what they have in the food picture in their menu) I’m still happy with the food that I got and the money that I paid and if you ask me if I will try it again my answer is YES, it’s still a considerable choice for an affordable Persian food experience (Don’t expect a fancy place with super tasty food,again think like a value for...
