I've been to Covernotes quite a few times over the past few years and it's generally a good time. I've been here to hang out with friends, read a book or study. The atmosphere is great - I love the concept of the used bookstore in the back and it never gets too loud. The food is a little overpriced for what you're getting, but I can let that slide because most of it is decent.
What really irked me was the customer service during my most recent visit. Usually, it's two young people working or an older man and they're all lovely. However, the lady who I believe is the owner or manager was not as nice. I was studying with my friend and asked her politely if she could reboot the internet once she had time as the pages were not loading on our computers. She told me that all of their devices were hooked up to the wifi and that they were working just fine, so it must be my device. After letting her know that I had already tried restarting my laptop, she said she would try to reboot. About an hour later, my friend went up to let them know that the wifi was still not working. This lady came to our table to let us know that she rebooted the wifi but that this was "not an internet cafe" and that the internet was working for everyone but our table (despite another lady next to us telling her that the wifi was not working on her phone either). This was just the beginning of a number of unnecessary comments on her part. It was quite rude and didn't really make sense considering all coffee shops have free wifi these days. And it's not like we weren't spending any money there - last time I came, I dropped 30 bucks on food and coffee, and this time I brought a friend too.
Overall, I felt truly uncomfortable during my latest visit to this coffee shop, which is a shame because I enjoyed coming here to study during my reading weeks. It was also unfortunate because it was my friend's first time at Covernotes and she was left with a sour impression. Everything is pretty good here, but I do think some improvements can be made in the customer...
Read moreI recently visited Covernotes Coffee House, and I was absolutely blown away by the experience! From the moment I stepped inside, I was welcomed by a warm, cozy atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The decor was tastefully done, with soft lighting and comfortable seating, perfect for a relaxed afternoon.
One of the highlights of my visit was their incredible selection of Iranian traditional herbal tea infusions. As someone who loves exploring different tea cultures, I was excited to try their blends, and I was not disappointed. Each infusion was thoughtfully prepared with a rich, fragrant aroma and an exquisite taste. They offer a range of traditional Iranian herbal teas, including blends like Gol Gavzaban (Borage flower), Nana (Mint), and Yavani (Thyme), each offering a unique balance of soothing flavors that are perfect for any time of day.
The Gol Gavzaban, with its light floral notes, was wonderfully calming, and the Nana was refreshingly cooling, just like the herbal teas youâd find in Iranian households. The staff was also incredibly knowledgeable and eager to share the history and benefits of each infusion, which added an extra layer of enjoyment to the experience.
Whether youâre looking to relax, chat with friends, or dive deep into the world of traditional Iranian teas, Covernotes Coffee House is the place to be. I highly recommend trying their herbal tea infusions â itâs a perfect blend of culture, taste, and tranquility. Iâll definitely be coming...
Read moreIâve been going here since High school and itâs always been busy, thatâs a given. Theyâve recently or maybe not so recently added the 90 minute seating limit during their busier hours. Thatâs totally reasonable! However my issue was the constant fear and pressure anyone would feel to leave. The customer service is great and they tell you very politely about this rule, but they need to stop staring you down hoping youâll leave. I maybe spent $40 here because I kept buying something every hour so I wouldnât have to be asked to leave. First of all, I should not have to so that, it is not my fault if itâs busy and people are waiting to sit. You cannot study here as a student like before, and frankly the coffee is slowly becoming tasteless. I had a croissant and it was so dryâŠobviously I am not gonna ask for my money back so I just threw it out. The sandwiches are super overpriced now and I get it, itâs the economy, but this place has definitely downgraded in quality since 2019. Donât get me wrong everyone is nice, but I shouldnât have to fear sitting down to do work, and it doesnât matter if they say to take your time, because that stress is still on you. Cannot wait for the outdoor patio to open, unless they wanna kick me out from there too! Disappointed...
