Blenz Coffee — Restaurant in Richmond

Warning: if you don’t pick up your drink right away, you will get scolded by the staff members!! It doesn't matter if you didn't hear them or you thought the order was for someone else- you will get scolded. Repeatedly.

This morning, I ordered a decaf coffee and went back to my seat. I heard my order get called and went up, but another lady was at the counter and I thought it was her decaf coffee as she was here before me. I went back to my seat and a few minutes had passed and I heard a staff member call for a decaf coffee again. I went back up and the staff member told me not to wait so long next time because it had been done for a while. I wanted to explain but she was dealing with another customer’s order. Also, she seemed annoyed and I didn’t want to argue.

The other customer that she was dealing with also ordered a coffee. She had two coffees on the counter. I’m pretty sure that she had pushed my decaf coffee towards me on the counter. Honestly, it was kind of confusing because she was too busy talking to the other customer and also scolding me to actually say which coffee was whose. Anyway, apparently I had accidentally taken his coffee.

After a few minutes, this staff member noticed and got mad at me again. She remade my coffee. This would've been nice if she wasn't scolding me the ENTIRE time she was making it. She kept saying that next time, I need to come pick up my order earlier, like it was all my fault! Even though, I had come earlier! It was just a misunderstanding! Also, it’s not my job to make sure which coffee goes to who- it’s hers! She should've been more clear about it. I don’t come to coffee shops to get scolded by the staff.

If you don’t want this to happen in the future, you should ask customers for their names instead of just taking their orders. Or, make it clear when the order will be done by. Or, literally anything else instead of scolding them when these misunderstandings arise.

I didn’t say anything as she scolded me because she seemed annoyed and I don’t like arguing. I'm not sure if she was having a bad morning or if she’s just always like this, but it was incredibly rude. You shouldn't scold your customers! Especially when it's mostly YOUR FAULT!!

This is my first time leaving a bad review and I hate that I’m doing it here because I really do love this place! I’ve been going to this particular Blenz for almost 10 years now. But honestly, I just needed to vent after a bad morning (and an even worse day). I don’t see myself coming back to this coffee shop any time soon.

On the bright side, I guess it’s good for you, annoyed Blenz worker! You won’t have to worry about me picking up my drinks late because I won’t be ordering any coffees any...

I recently visited Blenz Coffee and was thoroughly impressed with the quality of their coffee and the excellent service provided by the staff. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm smile and a friendly welcome that made me feel right at home.
