Felt like giving it a second chance since last ordering here from over a year ago. Looks like I will need to ban this place forever.
牛筋牛腩麵 15 bucks for this tiny thing (see picture) that has half the quantity of a typical cart noodle 車仔麵 at a food court. Need to ban this place from now on! Good thing wife has mastered the method of stewing 牛筋牛腩 at home from Youtube/Facebook recipes. Easy peasy!
BTW, it wasn't 牛筋牛腩 they gave me. It was 牛筋牛肚 cow tendons and stomach. That's fine. I eat both.

I ordered the Beef Tendon Lo-Mein 牛筋撈. Tasted very good, with thick 鹵水汁 sauce, surprisingly better than most Hong Kong's fast food restaurant. Although the akaline 鹼水 taste is considered mild compared to authentic Beef Tender Lo-mein, it really depends on personal preferences. At least, you dont have to pour vinegar to neutralize the alkaline taste.
The only complaints I have are:
Thick tendons are quite chewy. My mother makes softer, much more tender beef tendons by stewing them for just a few hours without using chemical meat tenderizers. She only buys large, thick tendons, and yet they always melt in our mouths. Obviously, Kam Ho did not spend enough time stewing them. Nonetheless, the taste was great; it didn't taste of baking soda or any known meat tenderizer powder.
The portion is very small. It may not be enough to fill the stomach of an average eater like myself. Although the $13 cost is still considered fair compared to the $19 or $20 a plate at most Hong Kong-style fast food cafe restaurants in GVA. I wanted to go for seconds, but that leads to the 3rd complaint...
the lineup is horrendous. Long line formed at all times, even at 1pm on a Friday afternoon when we were there. I can't imagine what weekends...
After hearing so much about their Hainan chicken, we finally decided to try it out. Needless to say, we were not disappointed. It's easy to see why this food stall is one of the busiest in the food court. Throughout our hour-long stay, there was a constant line-up of customers waiting to place their order. However, the staff was quick and efficient, ensuring that the line moved swiftly. Our order was ready in less than 10 minutes.
My girlfriend, who usually avoids meat, was pleasantly surprised by how much she enjoyed the chicken and the rice. As for me, I went for the house special noodle, which was packed with over 10 different ingredients, including shrimp balls, Taiwanese-style pork balls, beef balls, two types of wonton, beef tendon, beef sirloin, and even a full pig hock!
The noodles were cooked to perfection and had a satisfying bouncy texture. The seasoning was spot-on, and it was evident that the food was prepared with care and attention to detail. I was pleased to find that there was not an excessive amount of MSG added to the dish.
Overall, the food was authentic and of high quality, and the prices were reasonable. We will definitely be returning to this food stall...
Read morePrice has increased, so it’s now $8.50 for wonton noodles, and $9.50 for combo with a hot drink included. Great wonton noodles, perfectly springy and not undercooked/over cooked. We went there at 530pm once and it was sold out even though closing time’s 6pm. So it’s safer to go there at 5pm to ensure you get your fill.
Very filling wonton pieces. We have tried this maybe 5-6 times in the last 2 months now. Hainanese Chicken was also very delicious, and came with soup. Tried beef brisket noodles, and pork feet noodles too, and they were also delicious. But my fav is still the...
