MONEY GRUBBING MANAGEMENT & BAD FAKE ETTIQUETE/ SERVICE
I was first in line to put my name down for a party of 3 - was told 5-10 min wait. Patiently waited as I saw a rush of new customers and similar party sizes adding their names, and then were seated before me. I then asked after 10 mins how much longer? -They replied 15-20 min ?
Was seated and asked if I wanted water or tea. I replied water yet was served tea as well. Later to find out I was charged $$$ for it. Example- A table of 10 would be charged $15 for TAP WATER and chinese tea!
I asked to pack leftovers and was brought 3 containers and to find out later as well I was charged $$$ for it.
While packing the leftovers I find a dead fly in my vegetables. I decided against complaining due to the lack of attention and service received so far.
While paying the bill at the front desk the old Asian lady expresses ADAMANTLY -NO TIP? YOU MUST PAY %10 MINIMUM! as her coworker agrees. I inform her that it is left on the table but she INSISTS NO I MUST PAY HERE! So I walk back to the table to get her ENTITLED TIP. -$10 to her pettiness fund.
I understand things like tea and containers would be charged at certain restaurants since I too am a restauranteur, but to not inform customers there is a price for tap water and then to be pushed for petty charges as to giving tea when customers never wanted it is pathetically sad, while also demanding a minimum TIP to be paid out at the bar only, shows signs of a classless establishment.
After telling my stories to numerous friends I find out the experience was mutual on numerous occasions with other families.
Sadly this was one of my go to spots in the years past, but there are definitely too many other great seafood restaurants to enjoy, than one such as this. I dine out often and tend to want the experience with friends and family to be enjoyable but not in this current...
Read moreI haven't been to Neptune restaurant for lunch for several years. I want to eat pigeon again today because of the nice weather. Call to book at 11 am. Ordered the braised pigeon by the way, because I saw its website $36 a piece is quite cheap.
Today I ordered a brown colored pigeon it's not crispy, tasteless and dry pigeon, no wonder it's so cheap. The pigeons have a strong smell, it's the worst in my life 😅
My parents introduced me to try garlic chili crab fried rice. The crab rice is full of dried onions, dried shrimp and chili peppers. But not enough flavor, we have to put our own salt and chili sauce to eat, the crabs are quite fragrant, But what wasn’t fresh crab was. But it’s quite a bargain at $33. We can't finish eating, so we have to pack half of it home.
Shrimp dumplings and steamed chicken feet are nothing special.

They have 12% off after 11:00 a.m. But I don't know how they calculate 🤔 They discounted us $3.63🤔
No changing plates, no adding water, no politeness during the whole process.

Read moreWe made a dinner reservation for 7:30pm and ordered the $1088 set menu ahead of time. We have 12 people, 7 adults, 4 children and 1 toddler. Arrive at 7:15pm. We let the hostess know we are all here and was told we are early so we need to wait, understandable. We waited. 7:30 arrives we follow up with the hostess, it doesn't look like our table is ready, so we waited. 8:00pm still our table is not ready. 9:00pm our table was given to another party. 9:15pm we were given a table. There wasn't enough chairs so we waited again. 9:30 we are all finally seated. Food starts coming at 9:45pm. We didn't finish dinner till 11:30 and was the remaining few tables to leave. I understand over booking but this is ridiculous. At the end we still tipped 20% because I know working a Chinese restaurant is hard. It was the staff that took the reservation at fault. For a Michelin guide restaurant, it is definitely for the food and not the service. The atmosphere was so hectic, tables were cramped together it was a fire and evacuation hazard.
