I have frequented this McDonaldâs several times, and honestly have had no issues. This changed when I had a very unpleasant interaction with the alleged restaurant managerâSheilaâ at this location (Sunday night). My question to the upper management and franchise owner is what criteria are used to hire managers? If good customer service, communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills are essential, then this manager does not meet any of these requirements. When I entered the store, I greeted her directly and waved at her; she immediately assumed I was a delivery driver (I wonder whyâŚ) and rudely asked me for my order number. Upon giving her my number, she informed me that Iâd have to wait. After waiting patiently for about 10 minutesâkeep in mind the location was not busy at allâshe loudly and aggressively said âsir your order is ready!â. When I went to the register to pick up the order, she immediately told me I need to have a thermal bag. (Note: anyone who picks up from McDonaldâs knows that their bags barely even fit into the large thermal bags due to the way they pack everything). Anyhow, I told her that I was there earlier and had brought my bag, and simply forgot this time. I actually resorted to some humour to ease the tension, but it clearly didnât translate. She immediately began to lecture me in a condescending tone as if I was a child, to which I maturely responded âno problem, Iâll go get my bagâ. The irony here is that McDonaldâs staff across all locations only ask for the order number (without generally verifying based on the phone) and donât ask or check if you brought a thermal bag. Regardless, once I returned, she again demanded that I show her my phone and the order number. I was perplexed and upset at this point and felt as if she was treating me like a criminal. Despite showing her the order number several times on my phone at this point, she was still refusing to give me the food as she was holding on to it tightly. During this unnecessary ordeal and pathetic display of power and authority by this âmanagerâ, the food was getting cold!!! Frustrated by this entire encounter, I asked if I could speak with the manager to address this issue. She boasted with an obnoxious and arrogant smile that she was the manager and I was essentially out of luck. She didnât back down, and began to escalate the situation further by alleging that my bag was not a thermal one. But when I showed her my thermal bag, she immediately walked away recognizing it was a thermal bag. I hope this McDonaldâs location addresses this managers condescending and aggressive tone and behaviour. At the minimum she requires further customer relations/HR/conflict resolution training on how to deal with customers in a more polite and productive manner. Her discourteous and aggressive behaviour and tone along with her suggestion that I am not mentally well, is both unacceptable and arguably discriminatory. She is definitely not management material, and I will be contacting the franchisee to address...
Read moreMega frustrated! I wasted 25 minutes and my order was still messed up! Save your time and go to a different location!
After having trouble with the app not working I just gave up and went inside. No one in line, I waited at the til for almost 5 minutes before anyone noticed I was there. My order was processed and I was given the cup for my order to fill at the fountain, a typical mcdons action. But while waiting for my order about 8 other customers had come and gone while I still hadn't seen any sight of my food. (after working a 10hr shift I was starving!)
When I tried to ask a staff member about it she held her hand up and walked away! I tried to get her attention again, I wasn't being rude or anything but after waiting 15 minutes and having a lot of customers who came after me being served first .. I was a little cheesed. I finally got her attention and she raised her voice with "your food is coming!" ..umm k, uncalled for seeing as I hadn't even said anything yet.
I finally got the food and left, I checked it after I'd already left to find out they gave me the wrong burger! After waiting 20 minutes this should have be the bloody best burger mcdons had ever created!! NOPE, total let down after a long day.
(I will say tho there is an older woman that works in the drive thru and she is amazing! Great customer service and very attentive. I should have, in hind sight, just hit...
Read moreHORRID service. I am always super nice to fast food/grocery/retail workers as I have been there and know how hard it can be. After some confusion of what I wanted at the order box, this lady decided it was a good idea to try to explain to me why what I said was wrong and how I need to fix how I said something. Every other McDonald's knows what a sausage mcgriddle with bacon means..... seems pretty self explanatory. Instead she goes on for about 2 minutes explaining it and laughing at me when I was just trying to pay, I continued holding out my card and had to say "okay thanks, I'd just like to pay please" and she continued to laugh and take someone else's order. Once again I asked to pay and she just looked at me, laughed even harder and turned back to her coworkers. After I FINALLY paid and started driving away, she HAD to get the last word in and yell out to my car "HAVE A GREAT DAY" all the while she's still laughing. I am a pretty mild mannered person but it took a lot for me not to stop my car and jump out to go scream at her. I have NEVER been laughed at while trying to just get a...
