A&W Canada — Restaurant in Saanich

Updated Impression (1 star): It's gone downhill over the last year. At other A&W locations, particularly the Bay Centre, you can order your burgers without the bread and they will wrap it neatly in 1 or 2 pieces of iceburg lettuce for a no mess, grain-free alternative. But at this location they just dumped the patty and toppings, including the sauces, in a cardboard box. When we asked them to put it in the lettuce as per my order, they took around 10 minutes to comply and then returned it to us spitefully thrown into a hollowed out half of an iceburg lettuce head, sauces and toppings sloshing everywhere. Why is asking for what I requested and exchanged money for such an imposition to you? If you don't want to make such an item, don't offer it, don't accept payment for it, and while you're at it: don't choose to work somewhere you clearly hate. I have never experienced such poor quality in cookmanship and customer service behavior simultaneously. I will not be a patron to this company again.

I’ve been going to this A&W location for 3 years. And now, I will leave a review. The food is always exceptional in comparison to other fast foods. (e.g. McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Burger King.) The slight price hike in comparison to these chains is worth the raised quality of product you receive.

Service is outstanding as well, with an example being when I received a bacon, egg n cheese when I ordered a sausage. When I inquired with the worker at the front, I was immediately given a second breakfast sandwich without further questioning.

The atmosphere is good as well. However, sometimes there can be instances of tables being not cleaned after being used. Although, it’s the customers' moral responsibility to clean up after themselves; at least good enough for another person to use...

Made fresh off the grill and bagged appropriately. Slight wait (approximately 5-7 minutes) due to high volume but reasonable considering the full staff were keeping as fast as they could. Most customers who were here with me seem quite satisfied with their orders.
