Really great food. Priced well, and it came pretty quickly. The servers were bubbly and nice. It is a small restaurant, but I'm actually totally for that. Keeps it nice and quiet when you want to have a relaxing meal. Even though it was 35°out, we still went ahead and ordered the udon noodle bowls. Mine was beef. Pretty decent amount of protein. Was defintley not skimpy. Lots of noodles as well. The soup base was seasoned well and I ate every bit of it. It was worth sweating bullets for. The sushi was also good. I've had Wasabi before, but the stuff we were served was wicked spicy. I was totally digging it. Nice place to go in downtown Salmon Arm on a lunch date, or for an evening meal. Going to Kotan Sushi for the first time was a calming experience. The employees are very welcoming and fervent on serving you. They even play chill/hip-hop Japanese music from a music player to set the mood. I ordered the Ginger Beef Rice Bowl with the Wild Tiger Roll, which came with Miso. The Ginger Beef taste great, even if it does not look appetizing at first. Every ingredient in it, including the vegetables and rice is flavourful. my mom ordered sushi there yesterday over the phone for the next day and they accepted the order and set a time. We live in Blind Bay and she drove all the way into town to find a note on the door saying her name and saying that they are closing earlier due to a Christmas party so they wont fulfill our order. They didn't bother to phone to change the time or let us know at all. She wasted an hour of gas and time and I believe that this was very rude of them to not give a simple call because they had our phone number.
