My wife and I have visited the Night Cafe twice now in the last month. The first time the guest musician playing caught our attention on their website and we decided to do a "date night!" We booked a hotel for one night, travelled 90 minutes, spent the day in the community and had a supper reservation for 5:00pm at the Cafe with the musician, Pierre Bensusan starting right at 7:00pm. The warm welcome by staff person Jenna and the intimate atmosphere impressed us immediately. We had our choice of tables at that time and chose to sit directly in front of where the musician would play. Our waiter was Corbin. He was kind, helpful and made us both feel welcome and appreciated. Although at this time the restaurant was not busy, there didn't seem to be many staff around and our food order did take a long time to arrive. I ordered the Smoke Beef Dip which was very good but seemed a bit light on the quantity of beef. The Kale Caesar Side Salad was to die for; fresh, tasty and lots of it. Linda had the Veggie-Saurus Pizza which we both enjoyed very much! The staff that were present on this evening were kept hoping busy but remained professional, friendly and helpful. Although the service seemed slow, we patiently settled into the overall experience, appreciating the ambience, feel of community and the intimacy of the place. At the end of the evening I approached Corbin to pay our bill. He saw the tip we were leaving on the machine and turned to me, looked me in the eye and said, "thank you very much. We all appreciate your support." You have to love sincerity like that! All in all, even though we live a distance away, the Night Cafe feels like our go to place!

Last evening was "date night two" for us at the Cafe! The main musician was Ivan Hartle from Vancouver with his three band mates. Again we had reserved a table for 5:00pm with the band starting at 7:00pm. Jenna welcomed us and even greeted us by name (she is just that type of person and the Cafe is just that type of place!) Corbin (golly I hope I have your name correct!) was our waiter and on this visit there were many more staff than our first time around but we were pleased to have Corbin again. We ordered the Veggie Pizza again and tried the Grilled Prawn Ceviche. Our food order came a bit faster this time although it was again a bustling, busy place. Both dishes were delicious and perfect for the two of us to share. If you are looking for fast, unhealthy food, possibly try somewhere else! Ivan and the band were outstanding and a pleasure to support.

Meikle Studios and the Night Cafe are the same place and on this occasion, while supper and the band were playing, we noticed back behind us a man (I think it was Allen) painting. My wife being an aspiring artist went over and as was typical of our experience here, he was kind, accommodating and offered words of encouragement to her.

Google says "the Night Cafe is known for its unique atmosphere, featuring a cozy, candlelit space that combines art, music, and community," and WE...

Night Cafe – A Gem That Shines Bright!

If you haven’t been to Night Cafe yet, go! immediately! This place is pure magic. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with a creative energy that makes you want to stay all night. The staff? Absolutely wonderful, friendly, kind, and genuinely caring. You feel like a regular, even on your first visit.

The drinks are amazing, expertly crafted, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. From signature coffees to custom cocktails, every sip is a treat. The food? Equally impressive. Delicious, fresh, and full of personality. And the desserts? Next level.

What really sets Night Cafe apart is the art, the space is filled with lovely pieces that bring the place to life. Even better, there’s a painter on site, working live. Watching them create is mesmerizing, it adds a whole new layer to the experience.

Whether you’re there for the flavors, the ambiance, or the creativity, it delivers. It’s an experience you’ll want to return to...

The love and care here is phenomenal!

I have such a spot in my heart for a family run business and this one is truly endearing. I'm used to a friendly, down-to-earth experience, but the care for food is matched by the care for the people here.

The beef dip we ordered had absolutely fantastic flavors and the quality of ingredients was amazing. The beef was tender and the au jus was packed with flavor!

Beyond the food, seating was comfy and the live music was such a lovely addition to the evening. Not only live but talented artists too! Even the noise level was approachable as it felt buzzing but not overwhelming, making it easy to chat or enjoy the ambience.

If you're passing through town and have any extra time to spare for a sit-down dinner, I highly recommend stopping by for a delicious meal and kind smiles. Even if you can't stay and you order to go, you can expect utmost...

Walking into Night Café you are instantly drawn into this romantic story. On one half of the cafe it’s an art class/studio and the other is a beautiful bar and sitting area. The atmosphere is very calm, moody and romantic. A vintage/art deco theme with the furniture is what I was feeling and it brought me to a place I felt safe and welcome. The food was beautiful, flavourful colourful and left you feeling good. I had the owner make a special cocktail for me and it was delicious and made with love I was very pleased I was able to meet the owner and be served by her. Kind and calm is what comes to mind when I think about our interactions. Combine all of this together and it created a beautiful evening for myself and my friend with me. I highly recommend stopping in, I will be going back the next time I am in town.

A delightful place to wrap up a perfect spring afternoon in downtown Salmon Arm. The signature berry mojito mocktail (I felt so fancy), pork belly burnt ends and spring salad provided an ideal “carb light” late lunch that was a real treat. I stopped by to pick up some fresh daffodils 🌼 from CC Bloom that were on display outside, and to finally, since I had an excuse, check out this curious café with the stunning art display. Since it was later in the afternoon, the lunch rush was over and I had just the right amount of personalized service and a chance to relax in a comfy chair linger over coffee and enjoy the experience. I will definitely return again - perhaps next time for the community and upbeat evening vibe.
