I ordered spicy peanut chicken (#63) not the version on noodles or rice (#64) and got a plate of peanuts in oyster sauce with a few bits of chicken and partially cooked onion. It was the worst meal I have ever had in a restaurant. It wasn’t even spicy. This place must be under new ownership because it has gone horribly downhill. I won’t ever eat here again and advise anyone else against it.

A colleague introduced me to Saigon II and I couldn't have enough of their chicken friend rice. I have been there 4 times within the month and today I got to try something else. Well prepared meals, reasonable portions cool environment, r good parking space and above all. Great service. I get to go with some takeout each time too...

Got take out. The Wonton Soup is the best I've ever had. Flavorful, lots of wontons and veges. The other two dishes had absolutely no flavor. We added salt and they just tasted salty. These were Special Greens on Rice with Satay Sauce (Spicy) and Curried Chicken Fried Rice. There was no satay, no spicy, and no curry.

While the Vietnamese rolls are amazing, I was disappointed with near everything else. I was point to a table instead of shown, the server served another table that got there after myself, I was never offered anything but water, I felt like an inconvenience and like she had much better things to do (with a grand total of 7 people in the restaurant including myself). What I had ordered was cover in a thick, super sweet teriyaki sauce (which was not mentioned on the menu when I ordered coconut shrimp on vermicelli noodles) and when I went to pay, the manager (I think) said that "it is coconut, I think like 80% of it is made with coconut juice (she meant water)". It did not taste like it AT ALL. The server then proceeds to say on her way to the kitchen, well within earshot, "I can't wait to get out of here". I asked if she had a "hot date" to which the answer was no, she just had a lot on her mind. Her social skills were infinitely better with everyone else there. I guess just because I dined alone I wasn't worth it... At least this is what it felt like. This used to be my favorite place in the city from when I was little... It's sad to see it go so...

Saigon II is my staple Vietnamese restaurant period. I base my reviews of all other Vietnamese restaurants I go to. I honestly can't say I have had a bad or disappointing meal here. If you have never tried the crispy garlic chicken, it is a must. It has been known to be called "Crack chicken" it is that good, especially if you like a bit of garlic. The bread rolls are wonderful replacement to an egg roll. They still have the spring rolls and fresh rolls, the bread roll is different and a delight to eat. Caution however, you will get the odd garlic burp.... if you have not tried Saigon II. Give it a go, I am sure you will not be...
