Made a special trip to Saskatoon while staying in Prince Albert to visit a few places in our “must go to” list. Dropped in to this incredible little vegan lunch and baked goods shop in Saskatoon and do NOT regret this decision.

The Griffin Takeaway was loaded with so many delicious vegan baked goods and ALL were gluten free without any loss of flavour!!! We couldn’t decide what to order because everything literally made our mouths water. Since we were staying almost 2 hours from Saskatoon, we decided to load up on the goodies…ended up ordering some ginger cookies, some date squares, a raspberry brownie, a Nanaimo bar, a crumble, a lemon shortbread and a few vegan salted peanut brownies.

Our favourites were the slated peanut brownies, ginger cookies and Nanaimo Bars. The vegan raspberry brownie was a little dry but still enjoyable. Everything was the perfect amount of sweet.

The staff there was super knowledgeable about all baked goods…they even threw in a free cookie for us when we told them we drove 2 hours to get there. Things are a bit pricey but totally worth every penny!!

We didn’t order any meals but they do offer a great lunch menu too. Next time I find myself in Saskatchewan I will definitely take advantage of the “order ahead” cakes.

I would wholeheartedly recommend this place if you are pining for some delicious desserts. Vegan or non vegan, to is place...

There are lots of 5 starers i think due to fact being the one of a kind shop in Saskatoon. I have been to other GF and vegan places around the world and it to me doesnt meet the standard in terms of price and quality. There are only few decent desert options such as the brownie but the rest like cupcakes are loaded with sugar and icing is done pretty poorly. The texture of breads is crumbly and menu items are pretty bland to be honest. It seems like the selling point is the GF and vegan food not necessarily the taste and price. I bought cupcakes from here firstly it was marked well above market price and icing and texture of cakes in general from there is POOR. I personally find I can find better desert options at save on foods, superstores PC line and via amazon.ca. For eg the cakes and breads are best found at save on foods now they stock more variety and at a fraction of the cost. Superstores frozen and fresh GF bakery items like the vanilla cupcakes and breads are very decent and at a fraction of the cost than...

Amazing place!!! My son has a number of food allergies/sensitivities and I got a custom order of dohnuts made for him from Griffin and they were superb!!! He was so happy because he had never had a dohnut in his 7 years, and to know they came from good quality ingredients made it even better!! I went in there to talk about a custom order and the lady that helped me was awesome. It took a few mins trying to narrow down what he couldn't have and what he could, and she was so patient and understanding. jI just can't recommend them enough!!! I got an order of 6 and just froze them individually and he enjoyed one as recently as last week. When I stopped in there, I also treated myself to a bowl of the vegan chili. It was incredible!! This place is amazing and I'm so happy we have it here in Saskatoon!! Will be back again and...

The best gluten-free (celiac safe)& vegan-friendly restaurant in Saskatoon is a bold claim... but Griffin Takeaway deserves the title. 🏆😋 Meant to save some of that quinoa cashew salad but I couldn't stop! Have you been to Griffin? We normally do not have anything negative to say about this place, because generally speaking the gluten free baking tastes delicious. However, we were extremely disappointed the last couple of times purchasing from them. We have watched the size of the products gradually get smaller and smaller to the point where my homemade gluten free muffins (without icing) are larger than their cupcakes (with icing). The cupcakes are now really small but are the same price, if not more expensive (I cannot guarantee they are more expensive because I really cannot recall what I paid last time, but based on the decreased size they are more expensive). We purchased 3 cupcakes today and in my photos you can see how small they are.
