Made a special trip to Saskatoon while staying in Prince Albert to visit a few places in our “must go to” list. Dropped in to this incredible little vegan lunch and baked goods shop in Saskatoon and do NOT regret this decision. The Griffin Takeaway was loaded with so many delicious vegan baked goods and ALL were gluten free without any loss of flavour!!! We couldn’t decide what to order because everything literally made our mouths water. Since we were staying almost 2 hours from Saskatoon, we decided to load up on the goodies…ended up ordering some ginger cookies, some date squares, a raspberry brownie, a Nanaimo bar, a crumble, a lemon shortbread and a few vegan salted peanut brownies. Our favourites were the slated peanut brownies, ginger cookies and Nanaimo Bars. The vegan raspberry brownie was a little dry but still enjoyable. Everything was the perfect amount of sweet. The staff there was super knowledgeable about all baked goods…they even threw in a free cookie for us when we told them we drove 2 hours to get there. Things are a bit pricey but totally worth every penny!! We didn’t order any meals but they do offer a great lunch menu too. Next time I find myself in Saskatchewan I will definitely take advantage of the “order ahead” cakes. I would wholeheartedly recommend this place if you are pining for some delicious desserts. Vegan or non vegan, to is place is a winner!!!

We normally do not have anything negative to say about this place, because generally speaking the gluten free baking tastes delicious. However, we were extremely disappointed the last couple of times purchasing from them. We have watched the size of the products gradually get smaller and smaller to the point where my homemade gluten free muffins (without icing) are larger than their cupcakes (with icing). The cupcakes are now really small but are the same price, if not more expensive (I cannot guarantee they are more expensive because I really cannot recall what I paid last time, but based on the decreased size they are more expensive). We purchased 3 cupcakes today and in my photos you can see how small they are.

This is THE BEST place for gluten-free products...you won't be disappointed! One of my daughters was diagnosed with celiacs a couple years ago and this place is a blessing especially for sweets and treats! I ordered a delicious GF pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving and while picking it up l noticed GF sticky toffee pudding! I left the store with 5 individual ones as well as my pie! What a treat! They also make a delicious chicken pot piel l highly recommend checking out The Griffin Takeaway...a must for Gluten Free!
