Stood at the door waiting to be seated for five-ten minutes before any employee (the manager) came out. He never apologized or thanked us for waiting. Manager seated and took our order in a rush and brought a group (who had just come in and ordered after us) drinks before ours. It's January 2nd and he had no employees to cover the shift change at 3pm. When our drinks came one was forgotten (quickly fixed by waitress). We were never given spoons to stir our coffee. The lemon slices in our water were old and one was practically just a skin it was so small. We got our main course before our entrees. One entree was incorrect, the other was forgotten. When we got the forgotten entree (perogies) they were cold, the deep fried shrimp were delicious though. They gave us two white chicken pieces instead of one white and one dark. The mashed potato serving was very tiny (barely a potatos worth). The Caesar salad had an absurd amount of dressing on it, though the lettuce and croutons were good. The gravy that came with the mashed potato had formed a skin. The bun was either expired or kneaded too much and was far too chewy/tough eat; I tried to cut it open and mutilated the poor thing. The chicken was so dry I could barely swallow it. The bag the gave us to pack our leftovers in was dirty (You can see water stains all over it from God knows what). Restaurant smelled strongly of bleach on way out. Ornaments on walls were covered in a thick layer of dust.
Server was very polite and responsive and they managed to give us %20 off but the manager refused to come say anything to us and didn't even look at us as we left.
This is the first time I've ever wanted to walk out of a restaurant after eating only a few bites of a meal. I've never complained about a restaurant before and would easily have kept to myself if it weren't for the sheer multitude of errors. Overall worst dining experience I've ever had. Read moreWe went with a group of 14 people for a birthday party. The service was extremely slow and the server failed to communicate with the table and get drink refills. The restaurant was less than half full and it was 1.5 hours before we got our food and one of the families that we were with didn't get their food when the rest of the food came out. Finally a young girl came over that was not our server asked what we were missing with respect to food. Their food finally arrived as everyone else was finishing eating. The server did not apologize for the wait or lack of food and even became short with us when each party wanted to use their Scene card on their bill. She rudely stated that only 1 Scene card could be used per table and that rule has always been in place. After reading the fine print it stated that 1 Scene card could be used per bill. We slso had a 2 can dine coupon that was given out at Christmas time and when we presented it when the bill came the server said very rudely 'you are suppose to present this prior to ordering...I will now have to get speak with the manager to see if we can indeed take it after the fact'. We had not been to that Swiss Chalet for a few months and had relatively good and fast service with previous visits (10-20 minutes for food). The customer service this time was extremely poor and I will be hard pressed to go back...
Read moreFood is good but NEVER order take out or delivery. Ordered online at 6 pm said food would be ready at 6:17ish... didn't get our food until 6:50. Thought it was maybe a bad night but that is the 2nd time now this has happened. If you want to eat here I recommend to dine in.
Also we told the take out worker that the driveway to get in was completely blocked with snow since the plow went by and it was approximately 2-3 feet tall and people were not able to get in or out of the parking lot. I was barely able to get in (thank god I have a truck) and the worker shrugged it off not caring about peoples safety or convenience to give the restaurant business. This worker also ignored 3 take out customers for 5-10 minutes while I was waiting and she was doing nothing in the back kitchen but talking to the cook. This worker as well as what looked to be the manager? was too busy talking/ flirting the the other waitress workers to care about any kind of customer service.
The second time I was there I went late knowing it would be slow and still had to wait for 30 minutes to only have 5 other take out orders that were placed after mine get served BEFORE mine. Found out later that mine was ready for quite some time and the take out server had put it aside and forgot about it. cold food... nice
