Edo Japan — Restaurant in Sherwood Park

I visited Edo Japan recently and found the experience to be decent but not outstanding. The food was okay — the teriyaki chicken was flavorful, but the portion felt a bit small for the price. The rice was cooked well, but some dishes lacked a bit of seasoning and could use more depth in flavor. The service was friendly, though the wait time was a little longer than I expected during a busy period. The restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was casual, which worked well for a quick meal. While the menu offers a good variety of options, I felt the overall taste was somewhat inconsistent compared to other Japanese fast-casual places I’ve tried. It’s a convenient spot for a quick bite but not somewhere I’d go out of my way to revisit. I think with a few tweaks in seasoning and portion sizes, Edo Japan could easily improve. (Happened 7/20/2017... Called and talked to the manager (7/21/2017) Food Poisoning. Using the Spatulas to handle raw chicken and then touch my veggies, is kinda icky. The pineapple I got with my meal was old and had gone bad. Not usually being the one to complain I just pushed the pineapple to the side and continued eating. not long after maybe about 10 minutes, I had to stop walking home and vomit on the side of the sidewalk. Today I called the manager of the location and suggested that the pineapple or something had gone bad. The manager told me that it wasn't the food and its kept in the fridge, but she'd check, and told me that I probably have a cold or flu, After I vomited...

Use to come to this location, now not so much anymore. I am not sure what happened to this location. I don't know if they have changed ownership or whatever the story may be but it's not the same quality of food and safe food handling practice from what I can see has gone down hill. Staff seem to lack confidence in what they are doing. I guess the only good thing is that they are polite but it doesn't really make up for the rest. I might give this place another chance down the road to see if they have improved but until I decide that I am going to stop supporting this location. The Edo Japan location on Wye Road does so much better and should be the example that other...
