We had a really enjoyable meal at Pier Bistro and tried a few different dishes, including the lobster roll, the beef and cheese burger, and a bowl of chowder.

The chowder stood out right away. It was creamy, flavorful, and packed with ingredients. It reminded us a lot of the chowder you can get in Fisherman wharf at James Bay, which is one of our favorites. If you like the style of chowder served in that area, you will probably enjoy this one just as much. It had a nice balance of richness and texture, and it was a comforting start to the meal.

The lobster roll was another highlight. It came with a very generous portion of lobster meat, which was great to see. The lobster was fresh and not overly dressed, so you could really taste the seafood. It was served on a toasted bun that held up well without getting soggy.

We also tried the beef and cheese burger, which was solid and satisfying. The patty was juicy, the cheese was nicely melted, and the bun was fresh. It hit all the right notes for a classic burger.

The fries were on the softer side rather than being crispy. Depending on your personal preference, you might either love them or find them a bit underwhelming. We still enjoyed them, but if you are someone who prefers crispier fries, it is something to keep in mind.

One last thing worth mentioning is that Pier Bistro has a dog friendly patio. If you are out with your dog and looking for a place to grab a bite, it is a great option to sit outside and enjoy the view with your pup.

Overall, we had a great experience. The food was good, the portions were generous, and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. We would definitely...

The Ballad of the Pier Bistro A Sea Chanty Review for Sidney’s Finest 🎵 Oh, gather ’round ye landlubbers and sailors of the sea,I’ll tell ye of a bistro where the grub flows wild and free!Down in Sidney’s harbor, where the ocean meets the shore,There’s a place called Pier Bistro, like none ye’ve seen before! Heave away, me hearties, heave ho!The halibut burger stole the show!Heave away, me hearties, what a catch! No finer meal ye’ll ever snatch! The chowder in me bowl, it warmed me weathered soul,With chunks of tender seafood that made me spirit whole! But if ye want the treasure that this galley does best,Order up their fish and chips - it beats all the rest! Yo ho ho, and a bottle of… tartar sauce! The batter’s light and golden, cooked without a pause!Yo ho ho, what a maritime feast! From the waters of the west to the harbors of the east! The crew at Pier Bistro, they’ll treat ye like a mate,Servin’ up fresh catches from the Salish Sea so great! So if ye find yerself in Sidney, don’t ye dare sail by,Drop anchor at the Pier Bistro - that’s me battle cry! All hands on deck for fish and chips! The finest catch that’s ever graced yer lips!Fair winds and following seas to ye!Five stars from this old salt - as good as it can be! Now off ye go to Sidney town, with this chanty in yer head,Remember ol’ Pier Bistro when ye need to be well fed!For when the harbor’s callin’ and yer stomach starts to growl,There’s no finer port of call than where the...

Absolutely Fantastic! A Must-Stop on the Way to the Ferry

On our way back from Victoria to catch the ferry to Vancouver, we decided to stop at Pier Bistro in Sidney—and we are so glad we did!

We ordered the halibut with fries and salad, and oh my god… it was out of this world. The fish was honestly some of the best we’ve ever had—crispy on the outside, perfectly golden, and incredibly fresh and flaky on the inside. Cooked to absolute perfection, it had an amazing texture and flavor that truly stood out. The fries were also delicious, hot and crispy, and the salad was fresh and balanced the meal nicely.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience feel warm and personal. And the location? Just stunning. The restaurant is literally right on the water, with gorgeous views that make your meal even more enjoyable. It’s the kind of spot where you want to linger and soak in the peaceful atmosphere.

This was an unforgettable meal and a real highlight of our trip. If you’re anywhere near Sidney or heading to the ferry, do yourself a favor and stop here. Highly, highly...
