A&W Canada — Restaurant in St. Albert

I love this place!!! They never make any mistakes and the orders are always fresh and hot. The same holds true for every A and W in Edmonton, Edson, Jasper, Calgary ... they’ve just got it all perfected!!! A waiting area for special needy people (I have my moments too) and I am willing to wait guilt free, off to the side, and let the flow of patrons move along. However, I rarely make any alteration to Allen and Wright’s fare. BEST GD “off the rack” burger EVER!!!! Mozza - fresh lettuce, tomato, onion-deelish sauce AND bacon! Teen - almost as good only with CHEDDAR, but no sauce. Onion rings - absolutely Slay!!!! Fries are now better than before but still Mcdonalds and Wendy’s own that deal. 12 minutes wait for a poutine. Guy at front counter very snappy and rude , barking out orders at people waiting. IMO literally every time I order anything here. Person behind me in line was briskly told “five to ten minutes before I can even take your order”. It’s not that high volume sales here. They need faster more organized staff or just more staff in general. Last time I came here the guy behind the counter was in the back area on his cellphone for a good while before coming out. I wasted half my lunch break waiting just to order. Foodcourt has the slowest moving cleaning staff too. All table dirty. I usually enjoy A&W, but had a disappointing experience at the St. Albert Mall location. My daughter and I ordered chicken sandwiches, fries, and drinks and were told it would take about three minutes. After waiting over five, we checked in and were told it wasn’t ready yet.

While watching the food being prepared, we noticed the employee who took our order handling food without gloves after using the cash register and debit machine. When we brought it up, she insisted she had washed her hands, but based on what we saw, we weren’t convinced. We ended up asking for a refund and leaving after about 15 minutes with no food and poor service.

Definitely won’t be returning to...
