Coppola's Ristorante & Banquet Facility — Restaurant in St. Catharines

I hesitated writing a review about this place, but we had a less than enjoyable experience here New Years Eve. The first issue was our waiter. He was somewhat robotic, and was not too friendly, and was in a hurry. We decided we werent going to let him make us feel like we needed to wolf down our supper. The next issue was we were NOT told when we booked that it was a limited menu. We looked over the menu and wanted the waiter to explain what some of the items were, and he was blunt! Unless we overlooked pricing on the menu, we assumed that for $90.00 that meant per couple. I wanted pasta since we were at an italian restaurant, and there was very little pasta to choose from. (nothing with red sauce). I choose steak because of the limited menu, and I normally do not eat steak. I asked for it well done, and it came medium rare. It was gross, and pink, and also smelled like a cow!! Yuk! I told the waiter I cant eat it that way, and again he was blunt and said it will take awhile to cook another one, and I said I cant eat this! He asked if I wanted anything else, and I opted for the ravioli. Can you believe this....I got 6 ravioli with mushroom sauce on it. How can they justify $70.00 for a small plate of ravioli? We got a Caesar salad with it, and it was soggy, and tasted like fish! My husband had a small piece of chicken with some mashed potatoes and a few vegetables. When we got the check we almost passed out. The bill was $150.00. This place is corrupt!!! We didnt even have alcohol, but included in the price was a dried out piece of chocolate cake! Never will we participate again in a place that is robbing people. We still can`t comprehend how they can charge people that...

St. Catharines Ontario, is one of the most fortunate areas in the Niagara region to have Coppola Ristorante, an authentic Italian restaurant, in this charming Town.

My sister and I visited St Catharines during the first week in June 2023. Following an iffy start to our weekend break, we went to Coppola for an early dinner. The restaurant is unassuming and a fabulous find. Superb Italian food with fresh high quality ingredients, presentation, service and attentiveness. We were prepared to order everything on the menu and the daily specials after Patty, our waitress described and answered all our questions. Thank you Patty for suggesting virgin Caesars for my sister and I as we don’t drink. The salads, bruschetta, eggplant parm, pasta dishes and crème brûlée were mouth-watering delicious. You don’t leave hungry!

The entire staff was the best staff we have seen in a very long time. They made us feel like family.

This was our first time having visited St Catharines and Coppola Italian restaurant and it certainly won’t be the last. They did not disappoint.

Luigi, excellent job in selecting, training and mentoring all members of your team. This is what sincere and warm hospitality ought to be, coupled with authentic Italian food. You and your entire team have shown us that. Having owned an Italian and French restaurant myself, I know a good thing when I see it.

Simply exceptional experience in all regards at Coppola's Ristorante. Atmosphere is sophisticated while still feeling homey and comfortable.

Customer service was incredible, from moment we walked in and were met with a warm welcome until the time we stepped out of the door again and were wished a great evening.

Our server was, if not the best server I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, definitely in the top three. Made us feel like we were already old friends and really took the time to not only make sure that our meals were great but also have a real conversation with us as well. Outstanding.

Oh and let's not forget about the food! Perfect example of the style all around, high quality ingredients, and awesome flavor balances.

Arancini appetizer shell was crispy but light and not soaked down with oil, rice mixture inside fluffy and flavorful.

Our main course came with large, tender, and juicy shrimps. A lot of restaurants have a tendency to overcook their shrimp and leave them hard and rubbery, but not here.

Dessert was really the cherry on top of the whole experience, rich crème brûlée custard topped with ripe straweberries and whipped cream and just a pinch of black pepper to set off the sweetness of the berries.

Needless to say, we will be returning again. Hopefully...
