I go to this location almost everyday on my lunch break for work and I have never had a bad experience until last week. I ordered a veggie burger on a white bun with cheese and ketch up and a medium fry. Total came out too 9 dollars. The receipt printed AFTER I HAD ALREADY PAYED at the window and the guy said that that seemed cheap and went over my receipt. He asked what I ordered again so I recited my order again. He then said, oh my bad I forgot to charge you for cheese so Im gonna have to do that. This man actually had the nerve to ask me to put another 80 cents on my debit card because I didn't have any change or cash because he forgot to ring it in. Ive worked in fast food and we would never ask a customer to pay for a mistake we made especially in such little value. Its rude and literally a piece of Kraft singles cheese. I didn't think it was right so I called the store the next day and spoke to a young supervisor. She was absolutely amazing and the only reason Im giving it one star. She said that he had made a mistake and I SHOULD NOT have been charged for the cheese, and that that was an error in training and apologized countless times. She said she was gonna grab her manager on duty and fill her in and see how they can make it right. I really just didn't care about the 80 cents i just honestly thought it was disrespectful because I've never seen a fast food place do this. Then the lady who hopped on the phone should be banned from ever dealing with customers. Her name was Cheryl and she hopped on with the somber attitude and I asked if she was filled in on the situation and she gave me a run down that basically made me sound like an idiot and I had to retell it because of the way she made it sound. She said they did still have to charge for cheese and basically to bad was the conclusion of it. I asked her then why her supervisor JUST came on the phone and told me I shouldn't have been charged and said that was an error in training on the gentlemen's part and said she was gonna come on the phone and fix things? She then repeated, she didn't know and shed talk to her. No apologies and just basically laughed at me and said "people make mistakes." The supervisor I spoke to should literally have the highest position of management at this store she was outstanding. I can't even describe the tone and level of disrespecting and belittling Cheryl spoke to me in and I just ended up hanging up on her. It does not matter how small the issue is, you employee made a customer unhappy and that should be your number one priority and you never make their issues seem like a joke. Truly disgusting bitter women who needs to retire. She's well...
Read moreThis was my first visit to this location, and based on my experience, will also be my last.
I was in the mood for a good burger, and since choices in St. Catharines are limited (I wish there was a Five Guys here for example), I thought I would take a chance on Harvey's since they (historically anyways) claimed to make a hamburger a beautiful thing. Their new slogan (it's a beautiful thing) appears to be more vague, I guess that should have been a sign of the things to come for me...
I arrived a few minutes before 8:30 PM, and placed an order for 2 Double Angus Bacon Cheeseburgers, one with a poutine, the other with onion rings, and two drinks (pepsi, root beer). We were the only car in line at the drive-thru and after placing our order, pulled up at the window, paid for the order, and began to wait. After a few minutes, another car pulled up, and I was asked by the staff to move up so as to allow them to fill the order of the person behind me (we were still waiting for ours). I was assured it wouldn't be much longer.
The person behind me got their order and left. Two more customers were served, and we were STILL waiting. I looked up the phone number of the restaurant and called it. Voicemail. I left one, saying if there was anyone listening that I think they forgot about us, and how unimpressed I was. I called again, but also no answer. At this point, I was just getting out of the car to go inside the restaurant to find out why our order was taking so long, when the staff member came outside with our order.
She apologized for the delay but assured us that the burgers were hot and fresh, and worth the wait. I looked at my watch, it was now almost 08:50! I'd waited almost 20 minutes for this, it better be good!
My parent's house is only a couple minutes from this location, so we rushed home, eager to sink our teeth into nice hot, juicy burgers.
What a disappointment...the burgers were lukewarm and dried out (overcooked). The onion rings were stone cold, and the poutine was also lukewarm.
Really unimpressed with the quality of the food and especially the service. Certainly not worth the wait, and definitely not a...

The only problem I have ever really had here was when the washroom had just been mopped. I needed to use it so I proceeded. Well here's where the problem started. I use two canes currently to get around. As I started to enter, my left cane flew out from under me because the floor was wet and there was NO wet floor sign anywhere near the area. When the cane went out, it caused me to twist my back extremely badly. I am walking with the two canes now because I currently have two broken spinal bones (T7 & T10) along with 3-4 bulging discs around L3, L4, and L5 that are pinching nerves leaving the spinal column and the bulging is in close proximity to the actual spinal column of nerves. So to say the least. That unexpected twist caused severe pain to flare up all over my spine from top to bottom. I proceeded to enter the washroom with the help of a new employee holding the door for me. I had to just beat with the pain and get the job done or leave with very wet pants. When inside, I immediately noticed with great concern that the lighting was so dim, that I was barely able to notice that the whole washroom floor was very wet. I looked around for a warning sign and AGAIN, none! I thought that displaying those signs was a legal requirement when there is a wet floor. I guess legalities go out the window here. I was able to accomplish the task at hand and leave the room without further incident. I then went to speak to a girl I figured was a manager. I nicely asked that they move the wet floor that was guarding the handrail and COMPLETELY dry floor at the order line to the bathroom where it really should be. She said she would. Whether they moved it or not, I don't know. I had to leave to finish my evening out with my son on his birthday to get home and deal with the excruciating pain and discomfort I was now having.
Thank you Harvey's for some great food and a very UNFORGETTABLY painful birthday celebration...
