I used to work here before the "renovations", used to be pretty damn good food, a bit pricey , but on the most part quite worth it. I can't speak much about the menu as I was just passing by and trying to get a souvlaki wrap on my way home from the Fairview Mall. However just trying to get a sandwich here warrants one star. Take out server: hey have you been here before do you need a menu? Me: yeh i have small chuckle may I still look at the menu? T.o.s: passes the menu I notice the menu seems to be almost an exact copy of the old with seemingly bitter blurbs. So I put it down and ask to order a chicken souvlaki sandwich with no side. T.o.s: hold on I can't find the button for that runs back to grab wait staff manager A bitter woman comes out and loudly tells the t.o.s "WE DON'T DO THAT HERE" ... They used too... I settle and order the salad as a side. I've never really been big on the rice or potatoes I used to serve. A long 17 minutes pursues as two thugs seem to try to figure out my sandwich and salad while I sit awkwardly waiting. I get the sandwich and start eating it on my walk home like I used too enjoy last year. I notice right away they wrapped it in the paper wonky but I tucked it in to properly enjoy it mobile. It wasn't gross. But it was off, the strong overpowering taste of Dill envoloped taste buds and held them hostage the whole way down as if they had used shredded Dill pickle to make the tzatziki rather than cucumber. I did notice however feta cheese was added to my sandwich and that used to be an upcharge +1...
Read moreI’ve had Joe Fettas in the past and it’s been amazing! I just went this past Thursday and I was quite disappointed….:( The gyro was pretty good but the Greek salad was a big disappointment. They usually top it with a nice amount of real feta cheese and quality olives and their delicious house made dressing. The last time I went my salad only had 2 olives, 2 tomatoes, a whole lot of red onions, and some sort of cheap shredded cheese that was nothing close to feta cheese. I’m pretty convinced The dressing was also store bought and they just added some vinegar, lemon juice spices and salt to it. It was SO acidic it hurt my tongue. Overall I was pretty upset with the salad. It would have been really appreciated if they would have let me know at the time I called and placed my order that the salad was not going to be their usual advertised Greek salad or given a heads up that they had changed the recipe or had run out of ingredients to make the salad properly that day. I would have picked a different side option in that case. I hope this one time was just a fluke and that they will continue to make their delicious greek salad in the traditional way they always have done. Here’s to hoping next time is...
Read moreAlthough it took us two hours to get food at this restaurant which is struggling to serve their clientele in time, the food was rather delicious. We ordered at exactly 6:10 PM and we got a salad on the table at 7:35 PM. Completely unacceptable! However, after escalating our concerns to the owner, he ended up opening up the cash drawer and refunding us for half of all of our dinners which was a very nice gesture. Are used to go here for lunch with friends all the time and there was never a problem, but the new ownership seems to really be having a challenge with their kitchen delivering the food in time. It’s not the wait staff at all it’s the cooks. In fact one of the cooks was extremely rude to me when I went up to the front desk to ask for the manager… He shouted out “is that the guy who thinks he’s waiting so long for his food?“ The fact that kitchen staff have such terrible attitudes and are willing to bark out insults to clients, without the front of house manager even raising an eyebrow is pretty disgusting. The short cook with the buzz cut, light hair who was about 25 years old was a total jerk and...
