My mother has been coming here forever and always raves about it. I was in the city so I decided to check it out with her. I had no idea it was as large as it is. When you first walk in, there's a little section. I thought the entire store was that, I didn't realize you could turn the corner and there'd be so much more to explore. So many options at this place and definitely decently priced. Premade pizzas and homemade frozen meals / desserts. Fresh salads and ice cream, a place to get fresh subs made to order, and so much more. It was definitely worth a visit. I'd much rather give my money to a small local business such as this, than a giant corporation.

Came here for the first time to get some buns for a family picnic, and was delighted to see they also carried fresh lunch meat, which I also needed. I couldn't resist getting a pack of bagels, which were the best bagels I've ever had. I grabbed a pack of cookies to try, which were very good. Whipped cream filled desserts are among my favourite, and their cream puff caught my eye on the way out and I had to try it. Quite possibly the best whipped cream filled dessert I've ever had. Will be coming here regularly from now on.

This place is the bomb. Good for a quick lunch if you’re Rollin solo .. also great for big catering orders - have fed a events of around 200+ people with their ready for the oven roast beef, pulled pork etc. They’re good at sorting out how much food you need for however many people you’re feeding. Buns master also lives up to their name in the bun department. Freshest and huge selection. Hidden gem. Can find something for everyone here and prices always are reasonable.

Food is always Top Notch, I try to change it up when we go but I'm stuck on a lasagna kick ,You can go for the personal piece or go all out and get the family size. Occasionally, we'll be out doing errands, and instead of the fast food that these days breaks your wallet and leaves you wondering if you actually did eat because 5 min later, you're hungry again! We stop by Mitchell's . They have all the fixing to take your meal to go or what we like to do in the summer is eat outside in the gazebo....I'm saying that word outloud, hmm, sounds strange, G A ZZZ EeeB O sounds like that should be the name of a bone in your body...or not okay back to the Review so Hands down Anything from Mitchell's will win over your tummy ,your wallet and most of all your family So Wether it be a Submarine Sandwich with top quality deli meat srlection and cheeses on a fresh bun made in house, to cabbage rolls ,perogies, pasta and vegetable salads, fresh , Sausages, hot soups of the day, beef stroganoff, shepherds pie, yorkshire pudding This is just a tidbit of what they have. Made fresh in house ,The portions are large, For the price It's not cheap nor expensive It's fare. The selection they offer is like no other Bakery , but hold on to your hats my homies all that isn't even close to my favorite part, I like my sweets and my number one cooki of all time is The Empire Cookie. Mitchell's makes a mean Empire , Me 3 of those and a bag of 1% milk and that's me! Lol But seriously, pies made fresh daily, cookies ,tarts, sweet breads, fudge, candies, squares, chocolate covered you name, They also take special orders. So when you're out and about in our beautiful city of St.catharines, make sure to stop by Mitchell's Bakery located at 209 Carlton Street. I guarantee their creations keep you coming back for more !, Don't just take my word, try it for yourself , ...

Ive been here a lot over the last year after moving to the area. A lot of the food there is mediocre at best but there are a few items that I still go there for.

Today, I decided to walk over to Mitchell's to get donuts instead of going to a place like Tim Hortons (I wanted to support local and small businesses). When I went to cash out, there were about three people in line. The second cashier opened up and the two people ahead of me wouldn't go over, so I did. She said "what do you want?", and I replied "I was hoping to get two donuts". Once again she said "what do you want?". Thinking that she didn't hear what I said, I replied "two donuts please". She said "no. Which ones?". I said, "i'm not sure yet, I was hoping to point them out to the other cashier." (as they have no names on them and it's not Tim Hortons where I know all of the names). Instead of allowing me to pay for two donuts and sending me over to get them from the other counter, she said "Fine. You can go back into the other line then." And took the next customer.

By this time, there were about 7 people in line. Some with carts full of stuff. I pondered for a moment and just left.

I felt a little upset as I had already waited my turn in line. All that she had to do was cash me out so that the other cashier could pass me the donuts (which I had already witnessed her do for other customers) but instead, she made me feel like I didn't belong there and I was a bother to her.

As others have said, the older staff here can be very rude and make for a very unpleasant experience. I will not be returning for many years or until most of the older staff...

I shopped here few times, as friend recommended 'hot plate' servings. I thought to have shepherds pie for lunch, and while waiting in line, noticed there was one piece already put in the open box to go, for somebody, just not finished packing it up yet.

When my turn to order, young man was ready to take that box and give it to me. I refused to have that piece that was sitting in this box out in the open for all this time I was waiting in the line getting cold. Not sure if he understood how odd that was, I tried to explain my POV: "if you walk into Tim Hortons, and there is a coffee in the cup sitting on the counter without the lid, and you order a coffee and they just take that cup and put lid on it after it was sitting like that on a side?" he still did not seem to get it how inappropriate that offer was from him, and disrespectful that he did not even ask me whether I would mind to get that piece. His only concern was that he can not cut the fresh piece from new batch until old one was gone, so he wont sell me pie unless I take this one. I may be hungry, but I would not be accepting somebody else's plate, while clerk acts that is normal practice in this store. Out of courtesy, I just took lasagna instead, while I could have easily walk out without having any meal at that point.

bottom line, Thank you for reminding me that I can cook pie,...
