Nice concept for a sweet city like Sun Peaks, but the portions and the taste: absolutely disappointing! We are from Germany and love to do Fondue, so we were very excited to come here a few days ago. But we were so shocked and disappointed of the size of the portions. No one of us was even close to being full. We were leaving still very hungry but rid of 36 Dollars each. We ordered two times the meat fondue and once the cheese fondue. The meat was good but we just got beef and no pork, 3 little potatoes and a little portion of vegetables, there was a little sauce on the plate. What kind of a joke. We honestly gave our feedback to the very sweet waitress. She was very understandable but couldn’t change anything. About the cheese fondue: disgusting! I have never ever tasted cheese like this. It tasted chemical, I have no idea if this was really cheese. Afterward we went of to by some pizza because we were still very hungry. My question to the management: change something if you want to have happy clients since fondue is such a nice thing to...
Read moreFirst, not a bad word about the service. We were kindly welcomed and well served throughout the evening.
Secondly, you get ripped off. We ordered a main course cheese fondue. The amount of cheese you get in the fondue, at the price of $68, is ridiculous. I am a European and am used to traditional fondues (Austria, Switzerland and France). Over there, you get a whole pan full of cheese and the bread/additionals run out before the cheese runs out.
Here, you get less than 10% of the usual amount of cheese. When you ask for an extra portion of cheese, you have to pay another $39 for this. Ridiculous!
Moreover, the amount of cheese fondue for the main course is exactly the same as the cheese fondue for the starter, while the main course is $29 more expensive.
This restaurant takes advantage of the fact that the average visitor is not familiar with traditional portions and makes unreasonable money from this. People are being ripped off and should be...
Read moreWent here last night and tried the meat, cheese and chocolate fondues. There were 4 of us and we shared all three (each is meant as a serving for 2 people). The cost seems steep, but you get decent servings, especially of cheese. The biggest downside for the cheese fondue is that you only get bread and a small amount of pickles. It would go along way if they sliced up half an apple and/or some grapes, because the only add-on for the cheese fondue was prosciutto. Also, they could have done a slightly better job of explaining things: we only learned after we ate that the cheese was imported from Europe. I also feel that a better model would be per person (with a minimum of 2 people), instead of only servings for derivatives of two people. What if you have 3, 5, or 7 people in your group... makes no sense. The quality of the food was great though and would eat it again. Especially...
