Read moreAbsolutely abysmal experience. I placed an order for pickup at Bandra Cafe and was informed by a dismissive staff member that it would take 25 minutes—an unreasonably long wait for a basic order. When I expressed surprise, I was curtly told that it was “standard time,” with not even a hint of courtesy or accommodation.
Within two minutes of placing the order, I called back—only to be told that the order was “almost ready.” A blatant contradiction. Suddenly, I'm being bombarded with calls from multiple staff members, all regurgitating the same absurd excuse: “We can’t cancel the order because it’s ready.” Ready in two minutes? Really?
When I pressed one of them on this ridiculous timeline, he casually replied, “Yeah, it’s ready.” The sheer incompetence and disorganization of this establishment is staggering. Unprofessionalism drips from every interaction. Not one employee had the decency to take accountability or offer a rational explanation.
Avoid this place unless you enjoy dealing with clueless staff, contradictory information, and a total lack of customer service. Pathetic.
Since I’m able to reply back to your response. I would add my response back to my initial review. Your response is as disappointing as the service I received—defensive, tone-deaf, and completely lacking in accountability. Instead of listening to a customer’s legitimate concerns, you chose to write a self-congratulatory essay defending poor service and accusing me of being the problem. That says everything.
You keep insisting a 25-minute wait is “standard” for “quality food,” yet you also claim the order was “already being prepared” within two minutes—so which is it? Either you have magical chefs who work at warp speed, or your story doesn’t add up. Pushing my order “to the top of the list” is not a favor when the communication is inconsistent and dismissive, and when the order is suddenly “almost ready” moments after being placed.
What’s truly shocking isn’t the timing—it’s the condescending attitude you’ve taken toward a paying customer. Your staff’s lack of basic courtesy, inability to handle a simple change, and your own failure to acknowledge any room for improvement is why this review exists in the first place.
If you think this is how you “do things by the book,” then it’s time to rewrite the book.

Read moreThe ambience here is very good, though the music does get a little too loud at times. Unfortunately, the food and service this time left me extremely disappointed, which is surprising because I’ve come here often before and usually enjoyed my visits.
Service: We ordered a High Tea for 2, and while we asked for tea to be served with the food, it came about 10 minutes later. By then the food was cold. We also ordered bun maska with extra butter—though they forgot the butter initially. It was brought quickly when requested, but without a knife, so I ended up using the stirrer to spread it. Service overall felt inattentive; several times we had to look around for minutes to find staff, and at one point we noticed some of them playing with a guest’s child instead of attending to tables, despite the restaurant not being busy. The kulhad chai had a noticeable soap smell—though it was replaced, kulhads traditionally aren’t meant to be washed and reused, so this was disappointing. Midway through the meal, our table was partially cleared, including some cutlery, but no replacements were provided.
Food: The selection was very underwhelming for High Tea. We were surprised to find grocery store cupcakes and sweets included—if I wanted grocery store cupcakes, I’d simply buy them. The rest of the food was very average, nothing close to the “wow” factor I’ve experienced here before.
Other Notes: When leaving, there was no one at the front. There was no call bell either, so we just stood at the door until someone eventually appeared. As for pricing, I usually don’t mind, but $16 for 8 momos feels excessive.
Overall, Bandra Café used to be a comfort spot for me, but this visit left a sour taste. I truly hope they can improve both service attentiveness and the quality of their...
