We visited Spice 72 and ordered Raj Kachori- the ingredients were clearly mentioned below the dish name on the menu. We were served a dish which looked presentable but with serving spoons to eat. After waiting for 5-7 mins the hostess turns up and we ask her for the spoons and all she says is, “O, am sorry wasn’t aware you have no spoons. (Not sure if we had to bring them from home). We started to eat and found it really dry, in a hope to satisfy our taste buds we kept digging and to our utter dismay, it was filled with paneer and green peas ( probably left over dish from last night or they only know how old). We asked for the menu and checked the ingredients again. Then we asked the same hostess about the ingredients and she mentioned nothing about paneer and peas. When we brought the issue, she suddenly turned the table saying, “O! that’s our signature to fill in paneer and peas.” I clearly showed her the ingredients on the menu, where nothing was mentioned as Chefs Creation with paneer n peas! We even said it tastes stale, but all she kept repeating “it’s our signature” I have her name on the bill. The manager who welcomed us initially was no where to be seen. Vanished in thin air! The server who all this while was fake, knowing fully well they have goofed up the filling-called it signature and to top it all she tells us, “Next time you should let us know in advance if you don’t want paneer and peas”. Man, who would know of the hidden ingredients nicely kept at the base of the dish, and not mentioned in the menu. Might contact Fraser Health for they are serving stale food. The crap they served in the name of the Raj Kachori was nuisance, Not accepting they spoiled the dish and added stale ingredients even worse. I have pictures and bill to back. Wish I could post the pictures here! The last straw, the ingredients mentioned on the menu actually went missing like potatoes and sprouts, no where...
Read moreWe've been coming here because of the food. They have the best butter chicken! We decided to have my early birthday celebration with friends and family last week and we got the sorst service. Our first server was ok but couldnt check on us. She's busy taking payments from other tables so we understand. We na almost finished our food before we got our masala chai. Our server is already off duty and handed has to another server, no one even asked us for water refill. There's another server who was busy chatting with another customers beside our table. He even look after them very nicely. We called his attention to ask for water and he just put the pitcher on our table while he poured water on the other table glasses. We were so disappointed. They just ruined my birthday celebration. We called for a manager but the server said there was ni manager but she called their supervisor on duty which turned out that his just a server bot a supervisor at all!!! He apologized and explained that the table besides us are all his room mates that's why they get the best service?!?!?! So they dont care about us because we are not Indians?!?!?! He even charge me for service charge?!?!?! Unbelievable! We were there tuesday and he said that the manager is only available on thursday. We never got a call from their manager and that's unacceptable. The worst service!!! We will never come back to this restaurant as they only care for their nationality but not others who...

Amongst the plethora of restaurants in the area, Spice 72 was the chosen one. Upon entering it shows a modern ambience as you are greeted by some wine /champagne being displayed. A subtle temptation, who knows.
There is definitely a modern feel to the area with hues of colours painting it around. We were seated in a closed off area which was perfect for us. It's great to see them cater for a special occasion.
So the place was set but what about the food? We were vegetarian for the day so I can only comment on those. The appetizers were amazing ! From the golgappe, to the Raj kachori and finally the corn chops. However I would say as much as the presentation of the corn chops was spectacular but not functional. There comes a point where you can't get any more sauce from the bottom.
For mains we had a multitude of different cuisines from Manchurian, to soy chicken, to the bangain ka Bartha. The baingan, Manchurian, paneer was great, but we asked for the soy chicken to be spicy and got left wanting.
But what is a birthday without having dessert and the carrot halwa together with the moong dal halwa was calling our names. This is the main reason for the 3 star. The carrot halwa was absolutely disgusting. Left an extremely terrible taste in the mouth to finish the meal.
All in all I would try this place again but would definitely stay away from...
