I had to change my past experience 5 star review to 1 star and here's why. The food quality is not the same and it is getting worst and worst. The customer service sucks. The staff at the counter lacks basic customer service skills. They are rude too. Yesterday i went and ordered 2 fish pakoras. Paid for it and received all the fish pakora in one box only. I figured it out when i was told to step outside and have it since it is a take out only restaurant. When i went out in cold and opened the bag i found my fish pakora dropped in the bag since the box was overflowing. I went inside and politely asked the lady to give me another box so i could distribute the fish (and make it easy to eat with my son) She rudely told me that i should have told the waiter to put in 2 separate boxes, and that i should know that they give 2 pounds of fish pakora in one box. I was lile WTH, how would i know that? I ordered 2 separate fishes, why would someone put in one box? And plus it only costs a few cents for additional box, why am i getting argument over such a little thing. I politely told her to put this up in writing so other customers don't have to assume this new policy, to which she further argued that it is already displayed, i did not read it. Honestly,it wasn't displayed anywhere. Also i was on foot and had no where to go out and have my food, a little courtesy would have gone miles when i told them that it is too cold outside and I'm on foot. If i had my car it would have been no problem, i would have enjoyed my food in the car. Despite my request to eat inside, i felt really bad having to go out and eat by the garbage bins. Any way, i suggest the management to pay attention to customer needs and a little staff training. No business is good enough without customer retention and yours is surely winning...
Read moreBuyer Be-ware! Just ordered 1lb BBQ Fish and one Chicken biryani for takeout, a total order of $31.30 the owner insisted on tap payment with card. He took the card himself and tapped on the machine holding it in his own hand behind the counter. I asked for a receipt and it turned-out that he had automatically applied a tip of 15% ($4.70). He was staring at the receipt realizing what had happened, and still did not come clean with it. When I insisted on getting a copy of the receipt for myself, and looked at the amount charged ($36) I noticed what had happened. This food is very costly for the cost of food in Surrey, and I would typically not care about tips. What really bothered me was that the owner had done a mistake, and was willing to not declare it, and if I would not have asked for my copy of the receipt, he would have let me walk-away. This was no more an accident but it inclines more towards theft, once he is aware of it. Only after he noticed that I was reviewing the receipt, he offered a refund of $2 .. (AND NOT THE FULL ACCIDENTAL CHARGE) Typically I would not have cared, but this act goes a long way to show how honest and sincere the owner is in doing business. I save all my receipts, and this one will be in my records too. Never...
Read moreBengali Fish employees serve you based off of the person picking up. I ordered 3 pounds today told them to specifically pack in three separate containers as it's for three separate families. I was given 2 containers. When I called and asked why is it 2, The lady argued and said we were not told to put into 3 separate. They absolutely do not know what customer service is, the lady argued and did not even apologize once: she denied and did not try to resolve my concerns. Just a note for people going to pick up from this location: please send a MALE to pick up as they give more fresh food to males compared to females or younger children. Please learn what customer services is and what it takes to have a customer especially during this pandemic time. Everyone is struggling so if you have a customer please value and appreciate them rather than giving them burnt and dry food. Here is a picture of what their 3 pounds of fresh chicken pakora looks like. LOL! Hopefully their management sees...
