Went to Dominion for the 1st time to celebrate my 9 year anniversary with my boyfriend (yes, "Bf" even after 9 years *eyeroll*) & was pleasantly surprised. It has a warm, sophisticated atmosphere and very relatable to a classy downtown hotel restaurant. Right off the bat I was greeted by a nice hostess who guided us to our table. Our server, Amber, was very attentive and personable. For those wanting a classy "on the rocks" bevy - I highly recommend the Old Thyme Fashioned, which includes Bourbon. It's a nice sipping drink. You can taste the thought and precision the Bartender takes in creating it. Those who are keen beer drinkers, you NEED to try the Lemon Radler. Our appy arrived (Pork Dim Sum and CAVATAPPI Mac n Cheese) - you can taste the freshness and quality. Sharp cheddar, crunchy texture, far from bland. The pork dim sum melted in your mouth. The chefs knew what they were doing. It made us excited to have dinner. So many options to choose from I will have to go back to try the others! But Amber strongly insisted that the Korean Beef Ribs are one of the BEST items on the menu. Keep in mind, I am on a date. Is it NECESSARY for me to eat these dinosaur ribs? Well, Amber sold me on it and I am very thankful she did! The melt-in-your-mouth ribs, covered in that tantalizing Gochujang chili bbq sauce, I am already craving it again. Amber was not playing around though. Let me explain. After our dinner -- I discovered Amber was not satisfied with the amount of meat that were on my ribs. Afterall, she SOLD me on them. She let the chef know this, to which he came out and apologized to me. It was a very thoughtful gesture -- he then told me he was making me a new batch. This was an unexpected surprise. Keep in mind, I did not complain once. I thoroughly enjoyed them but can understand they have their quality standards and it is nice to know that they value their customers in such a way that even if we don't voice up, they will still hold their standards & do what is right for the customer. My boyfriend enjoyed his medium rare sirloin, which was smothered in a rich garlic butter. I had a nibble of it, 1 word to describe it: Umami. I forgot to take a picture of the dessert, but it is to die for. Chocolate Fudge Brownie. It was so warm and gooey, on a bed of caramel. I highly highly recommend Dominion -- whether it is a group or a couple, the menu and service do not disappoint. I will be back again! My sister is already jealous that I went without her so looks like she is next!

Birthday brunch with my girlfriend. Started off with the flight of mimosas, orange, grapefruit and raspberry (flights are $13) We love our eggs Benny and unfortunately they do not have the Pork Belly so now it’s smoky bacon. So I went with the BBQ Gochujang Pulled Pork which they serve their bennys on Buttermilk Crumpets. Hands down a win! I absolutely loved this dish. The BBQ sauce was not sweet and well balanced so it had you craving more. The breakfast potatoes were perfectly cooked, crunch on the outside and warm and fluffy on the inside. OK they were scream hot when they came out. Lol. My girlfriend got the Smoked Salmon Benny and it was very good. Super fresh tasting and still had a briney tang of salt. Unfortunately we did not get dessert as we were so full. The patio is perfect but it was only 9° so heaters were on and they do give you fresh clean blankets. The chairs are metal so I would highly recommend wrapping the blanket around your lower body to keep warm. They have extended the patio around to the front side for more seating but these are shady and no heaters. Service was fantastic and everyone was pleasant and very helpful. I think we’ll have to back and try the steak and eggs for $21! Oh and a bonus picture of the sign in the bathroom, it gave me a chuckle. @dominionsurrey

This is my 3rd time coming in (staying at the civic hotel this past week). This review includes 2 visits: Evening Drinks/Dessert Peach Bellini (3/10) - I was disappointed with this drink. I was expecting peach purée as described on the menu but instead it was a slushy. Similar to a frozen margarita. Was very sugar and honestly could taste any alcohol. Cheesecake dessert (6/10) - nothing special but some of the fruit was frozen so docked it down a bit more. Lunch French 75 drink (9/10) - Still one of the best I’ve had a restaurant/bar make. KALE, CAESAR! Salad with grilled chicken (5/10) - this was just ok, nothing special. ROASTED TOMATO BISQUE (4/10) - The bread was great! BUT this was not a bisque, this was an oily tomato soup. It was very watery and when served you could see a sheen of oil covering the soup. This recipe was definitely missing a cream base. I guess I had the bad luck of picking no so great menu options this time around. What I had that first visit was much much better. ————————- 1st visit All of the food was great! Very happy to have such a great restaurant right inside the Civic Autograph hotel. Unfortunately their hours and menu have shorten due to labor shortages but there was still plenty to choose from. Will be back to try their brunch menu!

Came here for the first time and had their brunch menu. I had a few friends that have mixed to positive reviews of their experiences and I can definitely understand why. I had the chicken and waffles, which were good! I've had this a few times as it was a pretty easy to find menu item in California, so I was thrilled to have a crispy waffle and crispy, boneless chicken. I tried some of my friend's bowl (BBQ pulled pork gochujang) and while it was good, I didn't find that the gochujang flavour came through as well as it could have. The drinks were also delicious and I didn't expect them to be as strong as they were, but that's not a complaint! For brunch, I highly recommend trying the different mimosas as you might find the pitcher is worth it. There aren't too many brunch places in the area and combined with the accessibility to SkyTrain, this is a no brainer! Food: 4/5 Staff: 5/5 Atmosphere: 4/5 Value: 4/5 Overall: 4.5/5

We came here for dinner, and the ambience was amazing! Our server was so nice! She had pink hair and it looked amazing and she was just so kind! She checked on us multiple times to see how we were doing! Food was also good! The only thing is it’s a smaller space so not much room for social distance seating, every time they would try to seat someone next to a table beside us, the person would try to get a different table asking for it to be somewhere else which was kind of awkward…… didn’t really like that part of experience could have been avoided if they didn’t seat us in the middle of the room and perhaps left one table space so it would be better to seat us. If you do come here try the brownie it tastes good!

We got some gift cards so came here for Brunch on thanksgiving morning. Sat out on the patio. Their coffee was decent, oat milk latte wasn’t so great. Brunch was quite good. It’s been a while since i’ve had chicken and waffles, that sweet savory combination works really well. The “breakfast fit for king george” was bit of a stretch — portion was decent but definitely not to the generosity of a full English breakfast. Mushroom and tomatoes were divine, but the bangers and bacon, and sourdough bread were just “eh, ok”. I did like the ambience, and the service was great. The washrooms are wonderful, kept so clean and it’s in individual stalls.
