Read moreNew review on a second visit for my mother in laws bday dinner today,,,,on my original visit a few years ago I had a much different experience.,,it was better. Tonight we went and were seated quickly. Then a server came to ask if we were ready to order Appies very very quickly after we were seated. She did not ask if we would like drinks or anything. I then gave her my appies order. Some of the items requested were 2 orders. I had to correct her when she read my order back as she only had one of the things we ordered 2 of. She was in such a rush and the restaurant was not busy at all! I was not thrilled by the service. After she took our order another sever came by and asked what we would like for drinks. We asked for cha and were told they did not have Indian tea because they didn’t have tea bags!!!! Ummmm what?! So then we ordered Pepsi mango juice and guava juice. They came quickly. Appies ordered were chicken tacos veggie Indian pakoras tandoori chicken wings fries chicken momos salt and pepper shrimps. Ordered the corn ribs and were told not available….not pleased. Pakoras were AWFUL all batter and sooooo dry barely any veg. Absolutely 0/10, chicken momos 10/10 delish, salt and pepper shrimps 10/10, chicken tacos 8/10 good but not something I’d want to come back for, the tandoori wings 0/10 had to send them back as they were raw like blood on the bone raw. At this point I was not sure if we wanted to stay for dinner. But we did. The same girl came back to take our dinner order that was in such a rush for Appies. Dinner - Goan fish curry, honey chicken, chicken 65, mangolian beef, bhindi masala and naan and rice We got our chicken 65 a good 10 mins before anything else…..then the honey chicken, Goan fish and bhindi came with the naan. Had to ask for the rice again and she goes they are microwaving it. My husband was like what? I was like I’m sure they make a big batch and heat to order. The magnolian beef came with the rice. Ordered butter chicken and requested white meat and was told they could not do that with the butter chicken so cancelled it. Chicken 65 - 10/10 Honey chicken - 10/10 Naan - 10/10 Goan fish - 5/10 - the masala was too strong and overpowering in the coconut sauce. Bhindi masala - 0/10 bhindi cut so large and not chopped. As it was so big and not fried first like most restaurants the bhindi was so slimy…whole bowl was left Mangolian beef-7/10 sauce was ok but beef was not tender at all like a true Chinese beef dish would be. Plus they serve on these stupid crispy rice noodles. They should not be served on that it’s not appetizing. Basmati plain rice-it’s rice. Our bill for 5 ppl was $287. If we had been a table of 6 an automatic 18% gratuity would have been auto added this is a normal practice for most restaurants no matter how crappy the food or service would have been. I did leave a $20 tip which seemed sufficient for the service and food. Had this been a restaurant that was amazing in service and food I would have left a much larger tip. Overall I would not visit this restaurant again for a third time. My original visit I left a 4/5 rating this time it was 2.5/5. Restaurant is clean and beautiful inside plates glasses and cutlery of very good quality. I am a huge believer in customer service and quality of good food. This place was not it. Also before I paid the bill one waitress said to another how many ppl at the table she was like 5 and she was like oh….this was clearly due to the 18% not being auto added. My sister and were standing right there when she said...
Read moreI came here with my fiancé last year, middle of the week, for lunch. We had 2 male servers who were attentive and very kind! And the food, wow, amazing! We had the sambal lamb and chicken chili honey with rice. Their sauces on the side are really good and actually spicy. Tonight, my family and I decided to dine in, with reservations, for a party of 6, celebrating my brother's birthday. We were sat in the dining area. The person who sat us said he'd turn the lights on. He didn't. We asked our server to turn them on so we weren't in the dark and she did later. My mother brought a cake and asked the man who sat us, if it was possible to put it in the fridge. He said of course. Hours later, after dinner, the cake was slightly hot. It was never in the fridge and most likely in the hot kitchen. Would have appreciated transparency as we'd happily leave the cake in one of our 3 cars as the temperature after 7:00 pm is much cooler. Drinks and food were never given to their respective person. Everything was brought to the closest part of the table and dumped and left for us to pass over dishes and drinks. We also had about 4-5 different female servers which was odd. Usually for a big group you have 1-2 servers looking after the party. We ordered 6 entrees, and 1 appy for 6 people. 5 of us were half way through eating and we had asked 3 times, to different servers, why my mother's chicken wasn't here yet. Eventually one of the servers said she'd get it now but by then, more than a half hour had passed so we canceled my mother's 1 order of chicken. She never ate. The bill comes and the gratuity is listed appropriately for a party of 6, as stated online while booking our reservations, prior. Understandable. However charging a gratuity for 6 people while 1 person never got their food, after asking 3 times to 3 different people, is not fair. After talking to 2 servers and a manager, which took more than 15 minutes, the gratuity was waved as we never got consistent service and found out at the end, the server that took our order never placed my mother's order. My mother ended up having to order from Green Lettuce in order to eat dinner tonight as she cannot eat most proteins besides lamb, which soured a birthday dinner. Also, every 4-5 different servers we had were quick to dump off food and drinks and run off even though we needed plates and cutlery and wanted drinks and were given broken fortune cookies and tried to talk to them but they'd leave immediately, the restaurant wasn't busy. Staff definitely need more training. Will no longer recommend this place, respectfully. Zero care or...
