Ahhhhh I love this place!!! Upon entering, I was so sweetly greeted by multiple very friendly Filipino women. I was totally caught off guard and I'm also incredibly socially awkward so all I could do was blush and laugh.
One of them endearingly asked if it was "unusual". I asked why she would think it's unusual, and she said "Because you're laughing". I explained that I just wasn't expected to have a whole bunch of Filipino women all yell "Welcome!" at me as soon as I walked in 🤣 Don't get me wrong, it was really cute and sweet and totally made my day.
They were all giggling and chatting amongst themselves, probably because I was blushing so hard and looked like a deer in the headlights lmao. I asked if they were Filipino-owned and they said yes. I live close by, so I'll definitely be here more often. I love to support local small businesses, and being Filipino myself, I'm also more inclined to support them because they're Filipino-owned :)
I ordered a large Iced Spanish Latte which was made perfectly. Their specialty here is bingsu, which was also what the place that used to be here (Snowy Village) did as well. I didn't order the bingsu because I just wasn't in the mood to eat a big pile of ice with various toppings. I'm not sure why Snowy Village closed down, but if they went out of business or weren't making enough money, that worries me a bit because it was replaced with a place that also sells the same dessert. I always hate seeing small businesses close down due to low sales and I'd hate to see that happen to this place. So I'm doing my part by coming here more often and writing this review!
They also have a variety of pastries and desserts. The lava cake looked really good which I am probably going to try next time. I didn't order the bingsu either but since it's their specialty, I will also have to try it next time.
The only complaint I really have is that the tables on the left side of the store (when facing the counter) are much too low for the seats. I don't expect them to buy new furniture though because that would be expensive, but I thought I'd bring it up so they're aware of it. There are plenty of other seats in the café though, so not the biggest deal.
All in all, this place is very charming, the coffee is fantastic, and the staff are so sweet and friendly. They also play all the nostalgic hits from the early 2000s that I grew up with, which is nice 🙂 I definitely recommend this place. Read moreI came here today with a friend to work on our Chemistry lab report in a cozy environment after school!
Atmosphere: My friend and I did indeed get the cozy environment we were hoping for when stepping into Infinity Cafe! We were able to complete our assignments with minimal distractions and conversed easily. I would not recommend doing work here for long hours due to the unavailability of outlets. There was a charging station near the entrance, though it costed the fee of $2.00 and was presumably only for cellphones or other mobile devices. Its position in the cafe is not ideal, as it makes it difficult to use your cellphone while its charging.
Service: The baristas were incredibly kind and smiley; there's really nothing else to say! I especially liked how enthusiastic and how patient they were. There was also a student discount, applying 10% off of every item in your order... if I recall correctly. This isn't a common thing I see in other cafes, so we were both surprised once we were informed! We we waited a reasonable time to get our food as well, which pleased us.
Food: With a bit under $20 with the student discount, we were able to order the following: a red velvet cheesecake, one nutella-filled taiyaki, and a small matcha latte. Despite being small in appearance, the red velvet cake was a perfect snack-sized portion and passed every expectation we had appearance-wise! Though, we found the cake to be hard and the frosting was too sweet for our liking. The nutella taiyaki took an extra 10-15 minutes to prepare, but I argue that it was worth it. The warmth and freshness really made my day and was a great sweet treat to have when working on our lab report! I ordered the small, sweetened matcha latte, though it was quite filling for its size. I am not picky at all when it comes to matcha, though I can guarantee that it is rich in flavour even with...
Read moreHi there, i wanted to make a review of this cafe because of just how good and homely the atmosphere is. I have been to cafes in Korea, Japan, and vietnam. But this place aces its craft. The matcha here is actually NOT waterless! And they offer so many cute drinks that weren’t too sweet for me (im not a big fan of sweets, if you are, then they can always customize it for you). I love how they don’t play super loud music, and there is always seating available. I ordered a strawberry matcha and a filo. :) I actually just really enjoy this cafe. It’s open, airy, and you can tell the workers enjoy their work (as far as i can tell 😇). I haven’t enjoyed a cafe in a while, mostly due to packed-ness, weird ambiance, and unhomely vibes. For reference, I am a student, and I’ve lived in Canada all my life. So this is a cafe thats super student approved!!! ++ a great overall cafe for Surrey area. I recommend the matcha latte, it’s organic and it has an earthy taste to it which actually tastes like matcha you’d get from cafes in Japan. Just go here. I couldn’t...
