Jade Valley Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Surrey

If I could give negative 5 I would. I have ordered from Jade Valley for at least 5 or more years, and told many friends and clients about their yummy food. The place looks a wreck, but the food was always good. Today I was told they won't deliver to my area any more. Too far!! I always paid an additional fee of 3 to 5 dollars because I'm about 2 km outside of their 5k zone by the Patullo bridge. I was always so glad they would deliver. It's very hard to get delivery here. We are basically New West, but the restaurants there won't come over the bridge. So its like a no go zone! So I'm stuck with just a few options when ordering for deliver, and now I find out that they just won't do it. Oh...that's not all! I had to order more than 4 dishes to even consider it. I live alone. Well this is how happy I was with that decision. Want good, but somewhat over priced Chinese food and you live within their little zone, go ahead and enjoy. For the rest of us...still waiting for something decent to eat here is Surrey. And hopefully ones that are willing to give excellent customer service, with a smile, and work hard to earn a good tip. Oh...wait a minute, it's 2023, and we no longer have good service, and the tip is already on the bill. But mentioning that is...

I’ve ordered take out/delivery from here alot of times with no issues. I went to eat in person on Easter Sunday & we got the dinner for 4 which was $89 for wonton soup, sweet & sour pork, beef chop suey, pork fried rice, chicken chow mein & deep fried prawns. The wonton soup was unfortunately riddled with small bugs. At first I thought it was black pepper specks until I analyzed a speck & noticed it had antenna’s and legs. This made my company look in their bowls & they saw the same thing in theirs. Definitely from the bok choy. The prawns had the black veins in them which is a sign they do not clean the prawn before frying them. I was a regular but I do not know if I’ll ever order from here again. Quality has gone down & extremely low sanitary standards as they clearly don’t wash/clean their ingredients. I will say, prior to seeing the “black specks” in wonton soup or the veins in prawns….. the food was good. Theres potential but they need...

Like many of the other reviews the food is great, one of the better places around North Surrey without a doubt. My family and I have eaten in a few times and we're very happy with our meals, the portions did look a little "lackluster" but the quality made up for it. HOWEVER, I recently ordered delivery, and that's where I was more than disappointed, same great food, but honest to God half portions arrived at my door! When the delivery guy handed me one small, and light bag I even asked if he had forgotten something until I peered inside and saw all my dishes. My $85 dinner barely fed my son and I with a small meal left over. The take out containers were small, just "filled", and I felt ripped off. I know prices to eat out have gone up, but they are definitely cutting back on portion size as well. They have lost a customer purely based on portion size in this case. A shame because the food is good, but not for what they are...
