Just Cakes Bakeshop — Restaurant in Surrey

This is really a very good bakery and people who run it know their stuff. I will definitely order cake but won't be standing in line to buy their stuff again, I don't think it's worth it mostly cause you won't know what will be available to you.

I called here at around noon to check if they have cake availability and I was told they have 4 cakes for the day. When I asked if I can book it I was told there is lineup so I can book it. Fair enough, with FOMO kicking in I rushed to the store stood in line and the last cake was picked by the person before me. The cake definitely looked great. I wasn't upset about missing out but if the staff know their cakes gets sold out within an hour of opening why not make a few more?

Also, I think the setup could be more efficient. There are two ppl one taking orders and other doing billing. People in general take a lot more time ordering since it's a nice bakery with lot of options that's understandable, but the other billing person is just standing and waiting. Stores allow two people to enter (with covid restrictions) for order so the second person is just standing and waiting for their turn to order.I think these lineups are here to stay even...

I was in the area looking for a cake for my sons birthday. I knew I wasn't going to be able to order a specialty cake as the orders need to be placed a head of time. I was fine with picking up a to go cake as the size was big enough. I wanted to first try a sample/cake jar as I have never tasted their sweets. I did go in later towards the day and mostly everything was sold out! The manager? I believe was kind enough to find a birthday cake flavored cake jar from the back so we could purchase it. Upon tasting it cold, it wasn't for me. I took the jar home and waited a few hours to taste it again after it came to room temp and I still didn't like it. The cake is way to dense for my liking and somehow not sweet enough ( and I don't have a sweet tooth). The buttercream was what a buttercream should be: thick. But, I found that it also wasn't sweet enough. Usually I don't mind really sweet desserts however, if I'm purchasing a cake I would expect it to be sweeter. Unfortunately it just wasn't for me. Just Cakes Bakeshop is one of my fave bakeries in Surrey. Her treats are everything...beautiful, creative and delicious. I am addicted to her cake jars and I wish I had a lifetime supply of them! I ordered my sister's birthday cake from the bakery last year and I was sooo happy with the result. Everyone was raving about the cake, first about how pretty it was and then about how amazing it tasted. It was so decadent. I would definitely order another cake in the future from Just Cakes. All of my e-mails regarding my order were responded to promptly and she made the process easy. I feel that her pricing is very fair when you think about all the steps it takes to make the desserts. She trained in Paris and brings all her skills to the table which is what sets her bakery apart from the rest. She posted a video of herself making pavlovas recently and there were so many steps involved. It wasn't just putting some fruit into a meringue shell. She takes her desserts to the next level and that's why I will continue to go back...
