If I could give less stars, I would!! So disgusted with the "service" at this place! I went there with my mother and sister, it took 40 minutes to be seated! All the tables were dirty, despite waiting that long we were seated beside the bathroom! And another 20 minutes after being seated to simply get the water we requested repeatedly. When we finally received our food, my mother had ordered Yakisoba- she received a gray of plain noodles, and a tray of beef teriyaki with mushrooms? Even the second waitress was confused by the dish she received. My sister ordered some ebi sunamono, which was very fermented and smelled awful! I ordered a California roll, yam roll, and chicken teriyaki roll. The California roll was fine, but the yam was undercooked and stiff, and the teriyaki chicken was plain. After all this lousy service, and informing them of this poor quality food, While others who were leaving with take out orders or doggybags received extras in their bags, we didn't receive so much as an apology for this horrid service! I must add though, we have eaten at a Kyoto sushi before, the Coquitlam location and they were incredible and the food was fantastic. This surrey location gives Kyoto a horrible rep! MY FRIEND who was with me also left a review about this incident and the owners argued with her. stating we left after giving our order. not what happened. this server literally walked away WHILE she was in mid sentence giving her order. the excuse given was "short staff" it is not professional to even be short staffed. When we entered the restaurant there was a sign stating that they not accept entertainment coupons. We were about to leave when the hostess asked us to wait while she went to ask someone. She came back and said yes, the will accept the coupon despite what the sign says. We sat down and put the coupon on the table. Service was very very slow after we were given the menus. After 20 minutes we tried to wave the waitress down. Finally someone came from the back. She saw the coupon and said they do not accept them, pointing to the sign. We told her that the hostess had checked and it was okay. The hostess was there and confirmed the information. The person from the back said she did not care, they don't accept coupons. I explained that we have been waiting more than 20 minutes and this was not right. She just kept saying they do not accept coupons. We left.
