June. 12/25: We live in ND and we were pretty panicked about finding a replacement since our favourite Cantonese style local restaurant closed.
Located close by in Surrey, Main Choice has been mentioned quite often in our FB community group. The present owner of 6 years appears to make the deliveries. Katie our server was super friendly and absolutely accommodating of our preferences (1/2 soya, no soya and no extra MSG), double checking a few times.
As this was our first visit to this no frills (some might say hole-in-the-wall) restaurant we were pleased to see their prices are much better than most chinese restaurants. We ordered specifically to compare to what weāre used to and happy to say weāve found our new favourite thatās a short 10 min drive from home.
The Beef Chow Fun is easily close to $30 everywhere elseā¦their price $16.45 was as good as any weāve had. Also ordered: Spicy Green Beans $15.50, Special Fried Rice $15.25 and Honey Garlic Spareribs (bone in) $17.75. No tea charge. Dishes came quickly one after the other and delicious.
Seems they mostly get take-out and delivery orders.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreOrdered online for pick-up. I took issue with a few things: 1. The quantity of food you get is less than other Chinese places. 2. It is TOO EXPENSIVE not just because of the serving size... But because the quality of food is not that great. 3. When they say "Vegetable Chop Suey" on your combo, that means you get a small handful of vegetables. 4. They put hardly any veggies to garnish their Chow Mein either. 5. While still tasty, their Chow Mein noodles are thicker and straighter, not quite like what I was expecting. 6. Their Sweet & Sour pork is not moist at all. They are dry, tough and cold upon delivery (I picked up around 6 PM so it's not like they were closing anytime soon) almost like it was sitting out to dry for a long time. 7. One of my combos came with "Breaded Almond Chicken". Very interesting, never heard of that - There was too much of a chicken to batter ratio, so I mostly was tasting dry, bland chicken. Didn't enjoy it, I dreaded it. 8. The last and the absolute WORST: DO NOT ORDER THEIR SAUTEED PRAWNS WITH CURRY SAUCE. On the website, the picture shows you a place FULL of prawns with no other info. When we got to eating this dish, we noticed almost ALL of it was vegetables. This dish costed $16.75 plus tax and probably cost them less than $3 to make because they just filled it with bell peppers. Shame on you, definitely not my...
Ā Ā Ā Read more1st 2 times ordering here it was awesome. 3rd time I asked for no broccoli in my beef with black bean, wanted only onion and green peppers. Got home and it was with broccoli and beef only. I canāt digest broccoli. 4th time I ordered an extra container of sweet and sour sauce for my chicken balls and they didnāt add it. I never complained those two times. Sadly on this 5th order I got home and found I was given chicken, rather than BEEF with black bean sauce, they got the veggies right, but then I found all kinds of inedible outer onion skins throughout and found a piece of sliced up plastic in the sweet and sour sauce. While they offered to credit me for next time I am doubting I will go back. Good tasting food, but in honesty I distrust the food now. If they are that careless, then they may be careless about the meat and other foods that could make a person sick. The front of the house is a disgusting wait room with few tables and a very lived in look with dirty tables with all their own personal mess. Definitely not a sit down and enjoy your meal kind of place....
